Can i play on different save files, multiplayer and local
I have very recently gotten Castle Crashers and just had a quick question. My friend and I both have the game and we play online, (he hosts and has the save file). My sister is coming over the holidays and bringing her controller and i thought it would be fun to play but i was just wondering can i play locally on a different save file without affecting me and my friends progress?

Hi!

Story progress and character stats are saved per character. So for example, if you are playing the Red Knight online and want to play with someone locally you would switch to the Blue knight who will have different story progression and start at level one. The only things that will carry over between the Knights are animal orbs and weapons.

You can have multiple saves without being forced to play different characters as long as it is for THE SAME STEAM ACCOUNT. If you navigate to your steam directory, for example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\xxx\204360 (where xxx is a bunch of numbers representing your steam user, and 204360 is castle crashers app id), you can copy the entire 204360 folder as your save backup and store it somewhere else on your pc, then you can reset your save data in the game safely and start an entirely new save. If you wanna return to your old save just replace the entire 204360 folder again with the one you backed up. you can make as many saves as you like this way, I have 3 for example.

level progress and character levels gained apply only to the character that got them, and you use your own characters when playing online with other people. so if the freind online has a lvl orange knight you can use your lvl 50 instead of him and keep the progress you gained, or switch to a different and not use orange knight for that playthrough. progress is saved only one steam accoutn and per character, but animal orbs and weapons stay with all of them.
