git gud
Well just get better at the game I mean I don't have it but I've played it and I beat all the bosses 2nd or 3rd attempt
If you don't get good soon then just don't play it.

although you might want a nicer response, the correct answer would have to be...

git gud

You guys realize he's asking how to "git gud," right?

I'd recommend going here and looking up some things: http://castlecrashers.wikia.com/wiki/Castle_Crashers_Wiki

You probably know this, but remember potions aren't a crutch in solo the same way they are in multiplayer. They don't just automatically get used, so you have to use them manually. I would recommend keeping 5 on hand, and learn to get to it quick if you need them. Eventually you'll probably get good enough to not use them every level on regular mode (maybe not at all), but in the meantime stock up, and even then stock up because it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

If you are playing in insane mode, which can be rough soloing at the beginning, you definitely want to take in top stuff to begin. It helps to take in a good animal orb, a good weapon (Snakey's mace if you have it is a common favorite; you'll need to unlock Snakey and play as him briefly to unlock it), and a good character. You can do this mode with any, but on your first try using the best stuff helps.

If you aren't in insane mode, then make sure you are building a good character. I personally dump everything into two stats. Spreading out the stats can make you hit a difficulty wall if you aren't experienced. Make sure one of the two stats is always defense. If you are struggling in the main mode, I wouldn't choose magic as the second one because you will run out of mana and some enemies are resistant (though that can be true of melee and arrow hits to be fair), Though if you are using non-elemental magic, the resistance is less of an issue.

Also learn a few techniques. If you haven't learned to juggle yet, that helps, and always learn how different enemies behave. That just requires paying attention.

So sorry, the correct answer was to "git gud".

Playing alone is even harder. I had more fun playing with other people. I recommend upar quite a character since the idea is to play solo. Hence you improve your player experience.

I picked it up last night and played through and completed the campaign solo, it was definitely more challenging than I remember it being on Xbox Arcade those many years ago, but I never died throughout the whole thing. I will say with how much extra health some enemies/bosses have it made fights not fun and just tedious, and probably the reason I did as well as I did is because I have a lot of prior knowledge I applied. It was good, but I'm not sure I really like the Steam version very much, just seems they made things more difficult just because, but I'll stick with it into Insane mode and see how things go from there next.

train defence. Don't be a glass canon - that is classic mistake for newbs. They put all to damage and nothing to defence/health

I never got good. All I actually did was max out agility in the earlier stages and effortlessly mowed down everything with a rapid barrage of arrows. After a while, I eventually learned one of the easy ways to juggle enemies, but it was really just for the sake of dealing with the airborne bosses.

Full Moon is the only stage where I have to simotainiously spam arrows AND magic just to solo through it. I could try to learn how to juggle enemies more efficiently, but that means I have to git gud.

I'd recommend starting at a very easy level and playing it a lot so you can grind for XP.
