Start with getting rid of that starting weapon; That will slug your leveling process.
Next up start with a mix of Agility & Magic (Balance the two as you'd wish)
After you have Agility and Magic maxed out, Focus defence Then Strength at level 68 (or 78 depending)
This is how I leveled my bear.
[And if it is not obvious enough, I do main bear.]
His starting weapon is very good to destroy and beat the game with.
P.S. Screw all the peoples who always keep sugesting to train agility. Don't ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ worry about getting a little bit less xp. You can be lvl 40 but as strong (or even stronger) as lvl 70 player who focused too much on grinding and agility.
