Saving crashes the game

My SS2 crashes (freezes) every time I quicksave, or even save manually. This is game-breaking, as SS2 autosaves after completing a level - so I can't exit the level anymore.

Quicksaving does work, but it stil crashes. When I reload the quicksave, I see that it did save the game a split second before it crashed. But autosaves obviously don't work that way.

I found a log file in TXT which seems to provide a clue:

LOG: Error loading ImmWraper.dll: Dynamic module "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Serious Sam 2\Bin\ImmWrapper.dll" not found! (Error 126).
LOG: IFeel disabled
LOG: Config file 'Content/SeriousSam2/Config/boot.cfg' doesn't exist.
LOG: Processing config file 'Content/SeriousSam2/Config/autoexec.cfg'.
LOG: Processing config file 'Content/SeriousSam2/Config/user.cfg'.
ERR: <memory stream>(4) : error : invalid expression part.
ERR: Syntax error in command.
LOG: Loading cvars from "Content/SeriousSam2/Sam2.ini".

That part of the log is normal (unless that's at the very bottom of the log). The mdmp file should be located in the Bin folder.

Oh, sorry, I misread your first post, mdmps are not generated when you have a freeze, only when it actually crashes. Do you have a latest savegame? I could try to reproduce it if you upload that. You can find it here: (it'll be a different player profile number for you, though)

Just as a precaution, have you tried verifying game cache already?

Also interesting is how the problem isn't always there. It started in Coast 2 Coast (Ellenier), but once I was in the next level, the problem was gone. Played without problems until the second half of Siriusopolis Uptown, and now it's back again.

Used a savegame from 2006 to put me into the next level. Everything works fine for now, no more crashes. It really appears to happen on a level-to-level basis.
