Played this game years ago. Restarted it yesterday with a friend in co-op. Damn! This game is so much fun! Because of the vehicles I think it is even better than 1st and 2nd encounter.
I like everything about ss2, from jokes, one-liners, funny secrets, to gameplay and so..
I just don't want all the content of this game to be forgotten, something definitely deserves restoration
Croteam could do a remake using 4 sam assets. Well, add something new. For example, tse hd came out a year after tfe hd. Moreover, ss4 has a transport system and npc! (as in ss2)
they can transfer levels from ss2 like this guy( from video )to fusion, and update textures
some enemies can be replaced with enemies from ss4, for example, take witches from ss4. Orc soccer players replace those dudes with hammers, drones from ss4 , balls with spikes from ss the last hope
1 it will generate income
2 fans will get the hd version
3 it won't take 7-10 years for a new game ( 2 years maximum, maybe even 1 year )
4 the plot of the game can be linked to ss5 - end of ss2 hd , meeting with mental in the end of game ( finally ), one more reason to wait serious sam 5
(so we get some kind of continuation of the plot after tse( finally not prequel), leading to part 5)
5 is much easier than coming up with a new game from 0
The game even has already written music, levels that just need to be redone (I think you can take everything except the giant garbage can)
I would transfer most of the levels and music from the game. Half of the enemies would be replaced by enemies from ss4.
about weapons, I would leave the Uzi and the parrot with the bomb.
Croteam : serious sam 2 was a mistake
meanwhile serious sam 2 in steam
88% reviews are positive ( 6400 reviews)
just serious sam 2 was added late to steam (
so the number of reviews would be much higher )
seriou sam 4 - 82% ( 5000 reviews )
if this game was a mistake, it would have 30-50% positive reviews. It's not even 60 or 70, but almost 90%
If croteam made it less cartoonish and added more old enemies, then the game would have 95-98% positive reviews

Not so much a remake, but it brings SS2 more in line with TFE/TSE. I think it looks amazing and it's what SS2 should have been in the first place
