My game of SS2 is windowed and wont go full screen and certain video options won't save. PLEASE HELP.

Steam uninstalled my game yesterday and ever since then my game is in windowed. I can get rid of the taskbar but when I try to go full screen and apply it through the video settings options, it takes me back to the home screen of my PC and then i cant move my cursor or anything, I have to restart my computer. I can't save my video settings options because it just keeps saying that a new change applied. I've tried doing alt - enter and it didn't work, it did the same thing as i tried going full screen, I tried restarting windows explorer through task manager, didn't work, I tried uninstalling the game and it still didn't work, i tried doing -full and -fullscreen through properties and nothing has worked at all. My video settings also dont work when I select apply for them, they wont save, I can only save certain settings like crumbs but for anything like brightness or gamma, it wont save and now I wont be able to play this game because its in windowed mode and I cant save any options, I really need help fixing this. Please someone help me. I really want to play this game normally again. Please respond.

when i do, the game takes me to my home screen of my computer and it never changes which causes my computer to hang and i cant click or move anything which forces me to restart my computer.

Same here, fullscreen screws everything.

Have you tried hitting Alt-Enter from within the game? That will often change a windowed program to full screen. *Edit* The opening cut scenes and movies may still run windowed or not entirely in full screen, but the actual game-play may change to full screen, non-windowed.

Hmm I've looked at that page before but I never considered trying it. Hopefully this works. I also right clicked on the application but there is no troubleshoot option.
