[Resolution Issue] How do I remove the black bars on sides of screen?
Before the 2.9 update, I played awesomenauts in 1024x768 resolution, to reduce lag. (My computer isn't very good.) My native resolution is 1336x768. Yet, pre-2.9, the black bars didn't exist, as the image was stretched (I guess that's what it's called). But now, there are black bars on the sides of my screen, which make the image smaller overall. Is there a way to get rid of them?

Some extra information if you need it.
OS: Windows 8.1
GFX: APU w/ interigated Radeon 7600G
Awesomenauts Settings:
Low Graphics quality, Multithreading enabled, and OpenGL mode.
I used to use DirectX on windows 7, but it doesn't work on 8 for some reason. (Just instantly crashes)

go to your GPU control panel an tell it to scale the GPU to fit the screen.

in nvidia's control panel, it'd be Display>Adjust desktop size and position
Bump. I really need someone to help me fix this, or have some idea of how to fix it. I just can't play well anymore because of it. AMD doesn't have that setting @SpSq

Go into the in-game menu, and look in the options menu (The gear symbol).
In here, select "Screen Adjustment".

This will allow you to scale the image as larger or smaller, without changing the display resolution.

This is NOT a valid solution to the scaling problem. First, it gives black bars within the "larger than the screen" area in which the game is displayed, besides losing rendering resolution (theoretically). I can see this because I have a 3 monitor setup.

But mainly because when I tried this fix, later it got reset after alt tabbing and then the same reduced screen is still centered inside the black rectangle, but this rectangle's origin is on the upper left corner of the monitor, so again we lose viewable area.

I've seen this problem happen also in other games like HammerWatch. I thought it was because its video engine has always been pretty much unsophisticated, I expected more of Awesomenauts.

EDIT: FIXED IT.

You need to find the game's executable.
Typically
(for example, C:/program files/ steam/steam apps/common/awesomenauts). Right click on the main game executable, and in the compatibility tab choose to enable "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". Fixed other games for me too. This tip should be known.

Thanks for posting your solution! :)

The solution you suggest it for a different type of problem. The topic starter is running a fullscreen game at a resolution other than his screen's resolution. Scaling that is up to the driver or the monitor and isn't even a Windows thing.

The problem you were having is that Windows scales up the game's window and doesn't show it at its own resolution. These issues seems similar, but are caused by very different things.
