That would leave out surprise factor for good. Maybe it is good for some, but learning to balance out your own team beforehand would be much better for you in the end, rather than countering a counter. Now you can switch to different naut, or reset/change your build mid-game without any penalty to you, or your team (you can even return with more total solar than when you left). I noticed it first day of playing, especialy by players who are in highest league and who aparently cling to their ranking. Of course when you keep doing it, you get used to it and perhaps even justify it for yourself, but it really doesn't belong into game that tries to be competetive at any level.
Ofcourse the Above stated character lock would be there aswell. So you cant counter counter counter.
