New player questions
Hi,
New player looking for a couple answers on some things.
1 - Should I start now or wait until whatever plans Atari has? I don't want my progress wiped.
2 - Progression. Hero levels? Any p2w stuff?
3 - Can I unlock all heroes by playing/buying a pack?
4 - Is there ranked?
5 - Does the game run past 60 fps? I ask because I have a 144hz monitior.
Thanks

1. Up to you. There's a good chance progress you make with the progression system won't carry over though.

2. Playing games (against other players or bots) earns you account xp. As you level up you unlock all of the items for the nauts in a fairly random distribution. But as a new player it will take you a while to actually appreciate what you're missing so it shouldn't be an issue. Nothing really p2w but there are some dlc nauts you won't have access to but none of them are OP enough to call it P2W. A lot of strongest nauts this patch are free ones

3. All characters apart from 7 DLC ones are available for f2p players. I've heard you can unlock them by finding a code for the "all nauts pack" on a key reseller site but otherwise **do not** purchase any individual DLCs for characters. They will not work until Atari updates the game further.

5. Yep. Runs fine on my 165 Hz and I used to run it at 144 on my old monitor. I'd recommend disabling v-sync though as it adds noticeable input delay for mouse movements.
4. There used to be ranked but they turned it off while figuring out how to make it work again. Basically there was no "casual" mode except against bots or in custom games, it was all ranked. Now it's all ranked but without the rank.
--stay with your teammates. if youre alone...thats normally a bad thing. always be checking the minimap. always.

--save your abilities for enemy nauts. dont use them on droid waves unless your are certain that no fight is going to take place until they would have come back off cooldown anyways.

--prioritize fighting/damaging enemy nauts over everything else. a dead enemy and/or low hp enemy has much more impact than anything else.

i say this only because these are the most common mistakes i see new players make. moreover, mechanical "skill" aside, these are things that i see the top players excel at.

edit: and yes, start now. anything coming from Atari wont happen for awhile if at all. also, dont let the negative players affect you. there are lots of positive/helpful players willing to offer advice.
