It's been nearly 5 1/2 years since I last played this amazing game.
There was no specific reason I quit, I guess I just eventually got burnt out?
Maybe I decided 'my work here is done' after getting all DLCs in time for Free-to-Play?
But hey, it's STILL my MOST played game on steam, clocking in nearly 1,900 hours!

I was browsing my guides and got hit with nostalgia seeing my old Penny Fox build setup,
which I posted as an example on my old Custom Builds guide.
So I decided to check Awesomenauts forum & news, to see how things are going.

Now my question is, why is everyone feeling so positive about this acquisition?
I'm just asking because 90% of the time, whenever a game gets bought by a bigger company,
especially a multiplayer game, the playerbase gets enraged!

What makes Atari so special & acceptable?
Just because they're a company that's been around since ancient times?
Or do they have a track record of treating games they acquire with love & care?

Because the alternative is it dies in darkness, with no matchmaking server online. The last playable version that doesn't rely on the matchmaking server is from like 2016. Ronimo declared bankruptcy lol. I personally am just happy someone stepped in. We'll see how it goes. At this point any change is a good one.

Oh wow, how unfortunate! I didn't realize the situation had become so dire!
Well then this can only be good news,
especially since I'm not aware of Atari indulging in some idiotic scandals.
Guess we'll just have to see what they decide to do.

People are excited for Atari buying the rights? I expect them to do a whole lot of nothing. The last thing I remember them releasing for PC was the abysmal Rollercoaster Tycoon World.
That is the company you think will revive this game? Sorry, but that sounds like copium to me.

I expect then to just take the IP and try to make.a new game based off the IP and this game will just remain as it is now. I really hope I'm wrong though

Not really excited for them to make an awesomenauts 2 and ruin it because they're an entirely different set of people. But you'd think they'd hopefully make a way for us to play nauts 1 more reasonably.

Yes that got put in the beta channel when this all went dpwn

To make that step a little easier, I've put that version in a beta channel. To get it, get to the game properties in steam, select betas and then select the 3.2.8. Steam should then start downgrading.

This is excellent news, I love this game and just found out it no longer exists (by trying to start a game, and it not connecting! SO SAD!)

I am really happy to hear Atari will be continueing the legacy - the game is still beautiful, playable, and super fun! I LOVE AWESOMNAUTS! One of the best games of the 2000's IMHO!
