There was no specific reason I quit, I guess I just eventually got burnt out?
Maybe I decided 'my work here is done' after getting all DLCs in time for Free-to-Play?
But hey, it's STILL my MOST played game on steam, clocking in nearly 1,900 hours!
I was browsing my guides and got hit with nostalgia seeing my old Penny Fox build setup,
which I posted as an example on my old Custom Builds guide.
So I decided to check Awesomenauts forum & news, to see how things are going.
Now my question is, why is everyone feeling so positive about this acquisition?
I'm just asking because 90% of the time, whenever a game gets bought by a bigger company,
especially a multiplayer game, the playerbase gets enraged!
What makes Atari so special & acceptable?
Just because they're a company that's been around since ancient times?
Or do they have a track record of treating games they acquire with love & care?
Because the alternative is it dies in darkness, with no matchmaking server online. The last playable version that doesn't rely on the matchmaking server is from like 2016. Ronimo declared bankruptcy lol. I personally am just happy someone stepped in. We'll see how it goes. At this point any change is a good one.
Well then this can only be good news,
especially since I'm not aware of Atari indulging in some idiotic scandals.
Guess we'll just have to see what they decide to do.
That is the company you think will revive this game? Sorry, but that sounds like copium to me.
Still have to use the beta branch workaround last I saw
beta?? 🤨 may be u mean version 3.2.8?
Yes that got put in the beta channel when this all went dpwn
To make that step a little easier, I've put that version in a beta channel. To get it, get to the game properties in steam, select betas and then select the 3.2.8. Steam should then start downgrading.
I am really happy to hear Atari will be continueing the legacy - the game is still beautiful, playable, and super fun! I LOVE AWESOMNAUTS! One of the best games of the 2000's IMHO!
