SOLVED!: Stuck @ INITIALIZING
Does anybody know what I have to do to fix this issue?? The game is installed under C:\Games\

Running Windows 8 64bit
Radeon HD 7770
AMD Athlon II X4 635 2.91

The weird thing is that the game works on my work laptop (also Windows 8 64bit) I am starting to wonder if I should download a crack off a torrent site.

Hey everyone,

I finally got the game working this morning!!!! I can't believe it. Here is what I had to do.

- Uninstall everything, delete any Rockstar and Max Payne folders left on my computer, that includes Social Club, worst piece of software on the planet.

- Once that was done I ran CCcleaner and cleared every single temporary file and invalided registry key it could find (it did find some Max Payne related stuff).

- Downloaded the game again.. yea all 30 gigs!

- Installed the game but did not run just yet...I went on the Rockstar website and installed http://patches.rockstargames.com/prod/socialclub/Social%20Club%20v1.0.9.7%20Setup.exe

- Rebooted my computer and went into the Social Club, Max Payne 3 and Steam folder and set everything to run as admin.

- Started Max Payne and the Social Club UI finally appeared!! Amazing...

I hope this is going to help someone out there.

PS: So far the game sucks :(

Well I had this problem on Windows 8-64bit, Tried everything and spent countless

hours but through trial and error I managed to fix it.

This is what I did:

1. Make sure MP3 is on administrator rights and it doesn't matter about compatibility.

2. Make sure social club renderer is on windows vista service pack 2 compatibility.

3.If you have a 360 controller remove it, after social club works put it back in.

4. Then search for program that adds an extra feature to windows. I had Pokki Start button for Win 8 installed soon as I disabled that social club appeared without a problem.

Some program in the background is stopping it from loading (look for a overlay program that changes the way windows works).

Hope that helps!

I did everything what you said guys, I still stick on INITIALIZING....

LA NOIRE works fine with Social Club but not Max Payne 3

I can not understand why they use social Club. Its the worst software I ever seen. Nobody needs it and use it..

Seems like the culprit is xboxstat.exe DISABLE IT! Then everything should work on Windows 8!

Go to maxpayne3.exe and right click choose properties. tick run as administrator and run in 640x480 screen resolution. Then run Max Payne 3. After the Max Payne logo appear, click home button and sign in to rockstar social. Good Luck ^^.

If nothing happen when you click home button, make sure to install Rockstar Social from the Max Payne Folder called MP3_Installers.

Btw after you success, just change the screen resolution through Max Payne's settings. I just found out that it stuck at initialization because Rockstar Social Club cannot pop out probably due to screen resolution. I'm using Windows 8.1 Pro 64-bit btw

This worked for me. I just changed the resolution back in the game settings.

I just got the game myself and had this issue and the solution for me was going to compatibility and running MaxPayne3.exe as administrator, after that the social club "woke up" or something.

Hope it's the same with ya'll
