Can't even play the game because of social club

Rockstar is becoming EA, the fact that you have to link your steam account with your social club account, and the fact that it doesn't even work is retarted.

What worked for me is this:

2. Browse to D:\steam\steamapps\common\Max Payne 3\MP3_Installers (or whereever yours is installed)
3. Run the "Social Club v1.1.0.1 Setup.exe" installer.
4. Launch Max Payne 3.
5. Sign-in to Social Club.
6. Link to your steam account.
7. Enter your CDKEY (mine was pre-populated).
8. Play.

This worked for me, but you have to make sure your Social Club account is public and can be seen by anyone, if you have it private, it will never link your account, you must set it to public (everyone), to be able to link the accounts, after that it will proceed.

Ok everyone. Here is what was sent to me today in regards to my inability to play Max Payne 3. Nothing, I repeat, nothing has even been fixed on my end. I cannot play the game even as I type this. I still cannot sign into the Social Club, I still receive "this profile already linked to a different steam user". According to Rockstar this is all fixed on their end. The only thing that got fixed in the end is Rockstar's boot in my ass!!! I have to tell you this is the worst case of customer service that I have ever encountered. How can a business take your money for a product you can't even play. Definitely the last Rockstar game I will ever purchase. What a damn shame!!

If the game says starting and nothing happens - you need to activate it in R* social club. Press HOME on keyboard and then just copy/paste key from steam. Solved the issue for me

where the ♥♥♥♥ do you paste the key into? I am logged into Social Club...but there´s no option to paste a key ...

They didn't release RDR for PC because the code for the game is a complete mess, and a PC version would require them to rewrite all the programming in the game...

Guys, go here http://support.rockstargames.com/hc/en-us/articles/200152926--Updated-4-16-13-Links-to-Max-Payne-3-patches-Social-Club-App and download the latest social club update. After you do the update, you want to load up the game, delete your profile from the game, then reenter your information for your profile. I realize it's a few extra hoops to jump through, but this fix worked for me. Seems to be linked to a lack of an auto-update by the social club, yet Steam is already updated for the new version. Hope this helps.
