I understand companies needs to protect themselves against piracy. I'm a big supporter of anti-piracy. Especially when i pay for a game and can't play it. Makes total sense to me that you want to not only lock your legitimate paying customers out of your game but also that you don't want to post any comments, admit any responsibility or even attempt to fix the issue that people are having after PAYING for your products.

Honestly... what kind of message do you think that sends?

I don't even get that, I get an infinte loop of trying to connect to the server.
I haven't played this in a long time and thought maybe I'd run through it again!
I guess that's not going to happen?

I have the same problem. It's so frustrating paying for games legit and not being able to get past the first loading screen. I don't know who to be mad at, Rockstar, Steam or what ... Been messing with it for hours , going through online forums and still nothing ..

Sometimes i get the not connected error, other times i get a message that my login is incorrect and once in a while i'm lucky enough to get this.
End result is always the same - we paid money - we have a faulty product. Any other industry would let your exchange for a working version or refund at this point.

I'm questioning both Steam and Rockstar at this point to be honest.
Both are equally in the wrong and at much at fault as the other.

If i'm a car dealer and i sell a car that doesn't work - i should sort the issue out - not pass the blame on to the car manufacutorer - at least not directly. I would exchange or sort the issue for the customer and then take it up with the manufacturor myself.

Another example of DRM methods hurting only legitimate buyers.

This is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥.

Social club seems to be working today when i tried it. I didn't do anything at all except write rockstar tech support 2 days ago , never got a response from them but saw on a forum it was working for someone else, i tried and low and behold i'm actually playing the game i paid for... it's great :)

If you call 1.5 weeks a few days, so be it. The issue is not fully solved. You can log in Rockstar Social club, but good luck activating your game.

I still cant activate my game. It's been over a week... is it really so bad to complain about not getting the product you paid for?

Yes we are serious. This is not the social club registration issue - this is about activation of the game.

In response to your unhelpful and absoluely unstructured comments:
The problem was there for MORE than a few days. It has been over a week now actually.
They also have not fixed it (see image above)
Thank you so much for your lifestyle advice. I was out for a 1 hour walk at 6.30am with my dog this morning and then i'm off to work for the full day. When I return home, go for a swim in my pool and then take the dog out for a walk before settling down to play a game for an hour or so to unwind.

Allow me to dispense some lifestyle advice back in return.
Take some time out of the internet and learn how to interract socially with real people face to face with the goal of improving your manners and general likeability.

I succesfully activated my copy 2 days ago by doing this

I know it may look stupid, but give it a try and tell me if that made a difference :)

Thanks for the advice. I have tried this and i still get the 'not connected to internet' error.
The tips about connecting my steam account by changing my social club settings worked though... but now i just need to activate the game.

when you have sc up, sign out then back in, make sure you type your username and password and dont just click your name on the left. That's what ended up working for me after following the guide.

I actually pirated the game and liked it so I bought it when I had enough money. Piracy isn't all bad, it just gives the people a little more options of trying the game before buying it.
