Hey sorry for the necrobump but i'm having the same problem and googling it leads me to this thread.
Did you ever found a fix for the random black screen? if so pls tell me!
I had an AMD card at the time, and nothing really helped.
All I can suggest is a fresh install of the latest drivers, other than that, check if your card is still under warranty. It's more than possible there's some sort of defect with the vram.
thats sad, well thanks for the reply.
My GPU it's a new R9 380 4GB, plays The Witcher 3 and BF4 like a champ with no problems nearly using all the Vram but blackscreeens Max Payne 3 for no reason.
It's just seems the game was made for Nvidia cards leading problems for AMD ones... as always.
Dx9 and DX10.1/11 don't look much different in Max Payne.
Dude I finally managed to get the game running with no blackscreen!
After some hours testing with the configs i was able to get to the end of chapter 2 with no blackscreens. Using DX10 (10.1/11 blackscreens-it) with vsync on, FXAA, AA and everything to High.
I beated the game 2 years ago with every graphic option low on 1280x1024 and now i can finally replay the game on glorius 1080 60 fps with high graphics!
Thanks again for the replys and the help!
