CD Key - Steam Issue?
So to play the game I purchased from Steam it says I need a CD key, click on the CD Key and all it does is say retrieving. And never does provide a CD Key, I run steam in admin mode, do not see anything blocking its internet access. I have this issue with Grand Theft Auto series I got through Steam as well and have tried their so called support ticket suggestions then stopped receiving responses from them about 2 weeks ago.

Anyone have any ideas?

When you click library and click Max Payne 3, on the right side there should be a link that says CD Key for you to copy your CD Key. Max Payne 3 is a pain in the butt to get going. You have to get the social club protection stuff setup right. I know when I first installed it the game took 10-15 mins just to figure out how to get past the start up screens. I had to press escape or something to bring up social club. I had to bring it up and take it back down similar to how you can bring steam up and down in-game. It makes me not want to buy any rockstar games on PC anymore. Social club feature is annoying.

yea I've clicked the CD key link, it just says retriving key but never gives one.
I've even let it sit over night to "retrieve" and still nothing.

The game starts and then asks you for the CD key?, Or is Steam asking for it?

Try contacting the Steam Support again. Let them "retrieve" it for you.

Have you seen https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=7444-ERUO-0002 about running the game's secondary installers? (I'm just guessing here, but isn't your problem related to the Social Club thing?)

Lately I have the same problem, but not just with Max Payne, but with ALL my games. No CD Keys are provided by steam, the window remains open, says "retrieving ..."

yea I've done everything that steam support said to do, did all the system checks they asked and provided all the files they asked for review, then they dropped all communication and have not responded to me in a couple months, I've had others check my computer to see if its a glitch on my end nothing. Still no CD keys for 5 games that were purchased/activate through steam or steam events. Rather pissed, almost pissed enough to make the leap to Origin for my next batch of games.

yeah, same issue. I can't use my own game because I can't get access to the CD Key because of some crap server problem.

The CD key servers are probably down because of the high demand. I wish steam would get more servers for when they do sales.

Steam are probably out of CDKeys for the game. Hopefully they get them sometime soon. 30GBs for nothing so far!
