Plus if you notice carefully, I did review the game. I talk about graphics, gameplay, sound, checkpoints and some opinions on the game. This qualifies as a review.
I'm not writing a professional review for IGN here.
And they were trying too hard to make the game appear epic which meant it came across forced and ended up looking drab and annoying with the ridiculous paneled scenes (trying too hard to mimic older Max Paynes) and random highlit words.
I didn't rage quit. I've almost finished the game now. On chap 12 of 14.
Edit: I've finished the game. About 11 hrs watching everything and trying to find all the golden gun parts. I suppose you can finish it in about 9 hrs tops.
I like how it constantly breaks up the action. The cutscenes are short and usually lead to another sequence. But time will tell if it becomes unbearable.
I liked the presentation, I like depressed Max, I loved storytelling (I loathed the story, because it is stupid masculine fetishistic fantasy), I adored the soundtrack, I enjoyed watching it. That is it.
The gameplay is solid, but most of what is interesting happens in cutscene. So ... ♥♥♥♥.
It is fine product, which I have hard time calling a game.
