Multiplayer Charcter Retail to Steam?

I am a big fan of Max Payne 3
bought it on release Retail with cover and everything regristret at Social Club :-)
.And played it alot in multiplayer i am high rank.
But since then ive moved over to Steam buying all my games there when possible.
My question is if i buy the game again on steam now
to have it there and getting steam achivments ;-)
will i be able to get my high ranked multiplayer character from the retail version over to my new steam version?

I think it would work. As long as you log into the same social club account.
