as for rockstar and yours as well as others hate for them, dont hate them but rather hate yourself and think, if something isnt starting up properly then whats stopping it? antivirus or just a simple rockstar social club update (gotten at their webpage) could be a couple of things.
You could also not be running max payne 3 in administrator mode, you need to make sure you tell it to run maxpayne3.exe with administrator privilages. also if your running in directx 11 then DONT, I had a problem with this...i got a 6670 1gb with DX11 ready and the game constantly kept crashing, went to DX9 (it dont look terrible in all honesty even at 720p) and it just stopped all the crashing.
Also make sure your DEP (Data Execution Prevention) isnt being a DERP...i read some people had to add it to the exceptions list to get the game to run properly. hope any of this helped and look forward to seeing you ingame.
