Does Max Payne 3 work in Windows 10 or not?

I have the first two games and can't get them to run with my GTX980. I get an error message that tells me I need a DirectX 8 compitable card. I thought all Nvida cards would be backward compatible. All other old games run just fine (any help here would be appreciated). I'm not going to buy this game if it's not going to work with this pretty new card.

I'ts working for me with 770GTX.

You can burn in fire your GTX980 because the game works fine on my GTX650Ti without problems on ultra quality and 60 fps. Windows 10x64 pro

Wow, wow I haven't tried it on the GTX980 but if it works on your girly GTX650 I sure it will work on my rig. (Now I'm just kidding). And by the way my second GTX980 arrives on Tuesday, just saying.

It's Max Payne 1 and 2 that I had problems with. It seems 3 will work just fine. There are work arounds for 1 & 2 I'm sure but I just don't want to spend the time. Thanks for the input, I'll be purchasing the game soon.

Run on compatible mode,set for Windows 98,and don't turn on anti-aliasing,worked fine for me.

it works fine for me, i have 980's. it should run just fine if you go by the Nvidia Experiance optimization.

Pure your not listening. I have not installed the game...you have that. OK, I wanted to know if anyone was having problems with this game Windows 10 and my video card, that's all. I had this question because of problems with 1 & 2. You should really bone up on your reading comprehension.

goodnight I'm here to get help for the max payne 3 bought and is giving malfunction open the game only when I start the story mode and warns that it crashes and malfunctions windows is my setup :
