CRASHES ON START UP

game is permanently in windowed mode and when I click the program it makes my screen black. Fortunately I am using 2 other monitors and managed to get the game past the initial rockstar social club and make it to the menu... where it crashes. I'm using windows 10 and have already tried the admin mode, safe mode, compatibility mode ... how do I fix this

got it to work

reinstalled and deleted the graphics options in documents. Then I launched the exe from the max payne folder in steamapps/common

thanks mate, you save me :) Had the same issue and was going crazy trying to resolve it! the deletion of max payne 3 folder (just went 1 step further, not only the graphics option but it included that of course :)) from my documents resolved the issue.

For me, the game won't start in full screen. It crashes right after the initial text.
Solved this by setting the fullscreen value to "0" in the graphic settings file, in Documents/Rockstar/Max Payne 3-folder and when the game menu has loaded I press alt+return to switch to fullscreen. Works fine every time (pressing alt+return too early makes it crash tho).

Hope this can help someone looking for a fix, as I did. Removing the file didn't help me.

-DX9 in the launch parameters. Work for me. Do not need to install anything, or delete something else, just ... Use DirectX 9. That's all, I hope it helps. :)

People i have an issue on Max Payne 3 it has been for a months, and that’s my first time i’m facing it, the issue is the game crashing immediately after the initializing screen, so what should i do to solve that creepy issue?

I’m really tried a lot of things but was really useless, which means i delete the game folder from documents, checked and verified game files, reinstalled the game and even i changed the whole operating system, and the issue stills occurring, i need help!

Remove the goldberg folders from C:\Users<username>\AppData\Roaming and reinstall the game
