Max Payne 3 crashing on startup. Anyone else have this problem?
PC Specs:
Windows 10
EVGA GTX 1070
Intel i5-8600k
16 GB RAM
2TB Hard Drive
500 GB SSD
500 GB m.2

Game only loads to the copyright screen (or whatever it's called) and then crashes to desktop. Game is open for max of ~5 seconds and then crashes. No error pop up or anything so I can't even see what the errors might be. I've played MP3 on this PC years ago and it worked flawlessly, but now I can't even see the title screen.

Tried removing Rockstar Games Launcher + Social Club. Reinstalled and updated RS Game Launcher + SC. I've reinstalled the game probably like 10 times at this point. I've installed FusionFix, but that did nothing. I've deleted graphics.xml, changed settings in it, tried to launch in dx9, ran as admin, ran in compatibility mode, launched in windowed mode, safe mode, launched from the exe, and none of it has worked. I've given up at this point in the hopes that maybe a fix will come along later.

What sucks is that there seems to be hardly anyone else who has had this problem so I cannot find any fixes for the life of me. I'm guessing at this point, it's probably something to do with my PC and should just try resetting it. But I'm holding off on that cuz I'm lazy and want to see if there is anything else I could try. Any suggestions would be appreciated, but no worries if you don't have any. Currently, I'm just curious if there is at least one other person who has experienced this just to know I'm not alone lmao. Anyway, hope whoever reads this is doing well :Q2_Turtle: :er_wave:

EDIT (Feb 7): Problem solved I guess. Game works now. Don't know why though.

Here's all I did since making this post: completely uninstalled the game, then turned computer completely off (maybe restarting would be sufficient). Reinstalled MP3, updated RS Game Launcher, launched MP3 on Steam in offline mode, then game worked

That sucks

Is this the only game you have problems with playing?
Have you tried installing it on a different drive?
Is your windows and video card running the latest version?
Try disabling the steam overlay
Try to play offline

Well I reinstalled it again yesterday and started it in offline mode and it works. I don't know if playing offline made a difference or not, cuz now it plays just fine, but I made zero changes otherwise. I had my computer off for a day, so maybe that helped something too. Rockstar Games Launcher updated, which maybe did something, but I wouldn't be surprised if that doesn't work for someone else.

Doubt this will help solve the problem. Could've been hardware, could've been a bug. Really don't know. I wish any one else with the same problem luck in trying to solve it. Wish I could've found a more solid solution, but I couldn't. :er_sad: Really could be anything.
