"Checking activation, please wait"

Could someone please help me with this issue. Rockstar are a bunch of asswipes who can't even help their own customers.

I bought a copy of max payne 3, installed the game, logged in with my social club account. The activation key is already typed in. I click on ok and i'm greeded with the following message "Error contacting activation server".

It makes no sense. The game is almost 4 years old! And the servers don't work.

And as i press "back", i constantly see the message "Checking activation, please wait...."

unfortunately there are many issues that overall is associated with the "club"....I haven't been able to play my game since nov 2015......you might get lucky one day and the server will come up..good luck...but no hope.

That is absolute bollocks. I am so salty right now. I bought the game on g2a and i won't be able to get a refund because the code has already been activated. This is why i hate DRM.

The consumers have their ass cheeks spread while the pirates can enjoy the game in peace. No wonder that everyone downloads this game. I guess that's my only way of playing the damn game!

I have the same problem and also contacted Steam several times. They just gave me some non-helpful text blocks, which I tried and which didn't help. Steam even claimed I already played the game successfully as being stuck contacting the activation server counts as "game time".

Of course, they refused to give me my money back for a game that I cannot play.

Rockstar needs to take serious actions with their "unique" RGSC 3rd party app, wich to us, is just annoying as Uplay (wich fortunately i don't have it) or origin (wich unfortunately i must have it due bf4 and bf3), The game is just great but only for "console" users back in 2012 (since most active mp was focused on consoles) didn't cared about the graphics, it was all about the fun on there, talking to the point, RGSC is just pointless drm 3rd party app. they should remove it forever, if they want their sales upcome, they must remove that app then. it is buggy and makes their own games unplayable.
