2.8 MB update released.
A small update for Max Payne 3 was released, replacing the main exe file. Now at version 1.0.0.216, it finally fixes the annoying crash on exit.

No matter what that original update was, good on them for fixing the issues it caused.

Nice to see them still supporting the game after not far off 5 years.

I haven't had the game crash yet on start up so maybe they fixed that issue too. *knocks on wood*

Finally! I just reinstalled Max Payne 3 and that bug was annoying. Really crashing everytime I exit.

What have they improved in the recent updates? As I understand it, all they're doing is keeping it compatible with the Social Club. Isn't it true that when GTA V receives an update, MP3 usually does too? I want the Social Club gone. It just leads to potential problems like this. In the past, I've occasionally had problems playing both GTA V and MP3 because of the Social Club. It's a useless system. Why congratulate them if they're causing the problems themselves? The game didn't need to be updated.

If they truly supported the game, they'd fix the broken V-sync, make the cutscenes skipable and replace the pre-rendered low res cutscenes.

1. I don't love Social Club either and Steam offers most of the features it does have, but it does work (majority of the time).

2. Cut-scenes are not skippable because they are also the loading screens (hence why you never see any loading screens in the game). So even if you skipped the cut-scenes then you'd still be staring at a black screen waiting for the next part of the level to load.

3. I agree the pre-rendered ones are quite low-res, but I imagine they made these for the consoles in mind, these take up A LOT of space (the game is big enough as it is), so I have no

As for what other issues they have been fixing with Max Payne 3 - other than social club, they have been fixing Multiplayer connectivity and crashing issues with the game.

2. Wrong! People need to stop spreading this myth they heard once upon a time, it has since been debunked in several threads. Ask yourself why there's that 5 minute unskippable cutscene before the imperial palace level if any of the arcade/chapter select modes can load straight to the level instantly.

Ahh, Bink video. The 480p gift that keeps on giving ;)

Thank God we are past those dark times.

FACEPALM

Cut-scenes claim they are loading screens when you try to skip them so can't be skipped, but in this day and age they last far too long to be loading screens.

they can be skipped but after the loading, that happens in the beginning of the cutscenes.

the pre rendered cutscenes have bigger loading times.

Wrong, stop repeating what others have said :p This is 2016, we have 4K gaming machines, there is no "loading" happening here... A simple Google will confirm this for you, or any number of prcoess monitors that show that NOTHING is happening on the hard drive during the cutscene. The example I gave above of the 5 minute cutscene before the Imperial Palace hotel, for instance...

R* continues to sht on PC gamers while pandering to console casuals. What else is new? What's that? Red Dead not announced for PC? Typical R*. Won't buy RD when it comes out until there's a massive discount (in the year 2021 or so).

Oh, isn't that what we all wanted. The non Remedy Max Payne (the iffy one) getting updates instead of the PC announcement of Red Dead...
