and now the social club update refuses to install (with is the actual update, nothinhg else got updated), wont even install if I try to run it manually, some error about compatibility, using Windows 10. Never had this issue before.

I hope we get to see a Max Payne 4. I got excited when I saw an update, but let's face it, aside from the voiceover, the storyline wasn't great. We need to go back to New York and we need some new Max Payne. Such a fantastic character who hasn't had Rockstar's full attention.

it's only update to social club overlay due to recent update of gta 5, it happens everytime when new dlc is out

True dat. Nothing against story in MP3 per se, if it was a different game maybe. The noiresque atmosphere I grew to love with MP1 and 2 really calls for a New-Yorkish type of setting.

What was wrong with the story?

Nothing as such, it was ok. It was a bit of a run of the mill "bodyguard" story whereby you were just the hired muscle and it felt like an excuse for MP to get a game.


I feel like Max Payne is such a classic character and deserves so much better. He deserves top storylines - but he's kind of treated as a second rate game. Just my opinion. I did enjoy MP3, I just felt like it could have been better.

I really wish Rockstar would stop messing with my game and my Social Club. I've had so many connection issues for the last week. Now I'm reinstalling the whole game.

I`ve reinstalled the game many times. Good luck if it runs better. Coz mine sure don`t lol

I also wrote this to Rockstar Support today:

"My Social Club is permanently saying that I have two new messages when I use it on my web browser, even though I don't. I've tried deleting the new messages, which didn't solve the issue. I think this is also related to connectivity issues I've started having in Max Payne 3. Often, I click repeatedly on "Multiplayer" on the main menu and nothing happens. The only way I can then connect to multiplayer is by joining one of my friends through the Social Club menu. Often, after I attempt to join them, it will say "Failure: Incompatible Data". Also, the multiplayer menu is often arranged completely differently. It looks like an earlier version of it, before updates were made. I've tried verifying the cache with the Steam option, deleting and reinstalling the Social Club and deleting and reinstalling Max Payne 3. Nothing has worked."

Of course, I'm not expecting a solution from them. They'll probably tell me that Max Mayne 3 isn't made for indows 10, even though it ran fine for a long time.

We understand that you are facing an error "Incompatible Data" in Max Payne 3. We would be glad to be of assistance to you.

In an attempt to resolve the issue, we request you follow the below steps:

-Back out to the Main Menu and go back to Multiplayer: In most cases, this fixes the issue.
-Reset your console and try again
-Make sure that both you and the people you are playing with have the latest patch: If people have left their consoles on since launch with Max Payne 3 running, it is possible they may still be in Multiplayer without the patch. When patched and unpatched players try to connect, it may result in errors.
-Perform standard connection troubleshooting just to be safe: http://support.rockstargames.com/entries/21423582

As I predicted, useless.

I know how customer support works. The agents just don't have the tools to help. They're probably with some third party company. I blame Rockstar, not their customer support.
