GAME KEEPS FREEZING

So, I recently bought Max Payne 3, and started replaying one of my all time favourite games. Ever since I got the game though, i'll play about an hour of it, and it'll freeze right in the middle of playing. It doesn't crash or anything, it just freezes, leaving me with nothing to do about it. I try shooting, but nothing works. The only thing is, when i pause the game, I can hear the pause menu pulling up.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!
I'VE UNINSTALLED THE GAME, AND REINSTALLED IT AND STILL IT KEEPS FREEZING!

goto the game in your library and right click, select properties. Click the set launch options tab.
put this into the line: for dx9 put -dx9 for dx11 put -dx11
say ok , close the properties and launch the game.

I thought I was the only one having this problem. I hope verifying the cache will help me on the mac version.

at tj, the added start command will fix it for crash on exit and other issues, but never tried it on a mac. I'd use the -dx9 one I have had better results with that setting, and at dx9 you can pretty much max all the graphics settings

Change to direct x 9 in settings and then click ok and go to properties click on set launch option and type -dx9 Hopefully it works

I just installed max Payne 3 but when I select new game after First demo game kik me out on desktop whys wrong(I cant speak english well btw)
