not saving properly?
First off, It's been a long ass time since I've played this game, so maybe my memory is just shot out on it...

Why is it that whenever I save I end up back at the last auto save point (generally speaking much further back than I want to be), I first noticed this at the tutorial, I stopped at the adult part and when I came back to keep playing, bam kid. At first I thought it was just a bug, and had to do the same thing leave as an adult and then I realized it was an issue...

I just finished the trader escort mission to the camp and decided to go do some blackjack, saved at the start won a few hands and saved again, then decided to just keep maxin bets, well after I lost a double 1k bet and tried to load my save (did not load the autosave I'm not an idiot) I end up right outside the entrance of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ escort quest by that demon door combat multiplier... ffs.

I just starting working a full time job WITH overtime, my time is very valuable now because I also live over an hour away from this job.. I barely get 2 hours to myself a day now tops (and only sunday off with possiblities of us working then too........)

tldr this game be pissin me off z.z

I am having the very same problem. I am a kid over and over again. Even though it says autosaved at the right time, it takes me back to the 59th minute in game.

Bear with me here, the save system in this game is a bit weird. As best I can tell, if you are doing a quest of any type, saving the game will only save your PROGRESS up to the point of starting it. Your gold, exp, inventory etc are all saved up to the point of initiating the save. If you are not doing any quests, it will save normally. Playing blackjack etc are all considered quests I think. Its a silly system, that caused me to just pause the game and alt/tab out to do real life things. Luckily its alt/tab stable, and I had no issues. The game does autosave, just not very often it seems, unless you are on the main quest, when it autosaves every time you change areas. As I said, its a weird setup.

JackAnderson, search the Fable TLC discussion for a thread titled "Fable won't load" There is a clear explanation about turning off data execution prevention by user "Crazed Possum"

Guys, i started playing the game again and i have the same issue :( did you find out how to solve it? And if we are not supposed to do quests so it will save correctly then what are we supposed to do on the game? Please help!!! It's the 4th time i am doing the same all over again from the point of being a kid on the game again..

I figured out the save problem.....press Esc key while in game then click 'Options' then click 'Hero Save'..... I got tired of starting back as a kid myself...lol

Look it up in the in-game logbook or actually read the tutorial messages. While you are actively on a quest (read: not just having picked up the quest card, but having travelled to the region and begun the quest) you cannot save your progress in that quest. You can only perform a 'Hero Save', where your stats, inventory and completed quests/sidequests are saved. If you load this save, you'll start at the last Auto Save point before the quest was begun.

When you are not actively on a quest, this option is replaced by a 'World Save' which is a bog standard run-of-the-mill save.

What's the problem, again? The game tells you this quite clearly.

Yeah, ^^^^ that ^^^

Also, you can't do your first proper "World Save" until you complete your training and leave the Guild as an adult, maybe at most an hour or so into the game if you don't dawdle.
