What is it that Attractiveness and Scariness DO exactly, and why I would want or NOT want them?

This is something that's confused me for a long time.

Attractiveness does definitely make you, well, favorable in people's eyes.

Scariness, on the other hand, feels more like a measure of respect - my goody good running around with max attractiveness and minimum scariness was pretty much getting mocked all the time, even as he gained renown.

Conversely, my evil guy running around with max scariness and minimum attractiveness got a few comments about his... lack of hygeine, apparently.

Though I'm going off of memory so I could be remembering wrong.

I guess the biggest question is, why shouldn't I keep both at max?

As far as I'm aware... they don't really DO anything.
They just change your physical appearance, I think it's just for show. The villagers will react to you differently but I don't think they actually change the game at all. It's just a nifty little feature to show what sort of player you are

It just affects how they react ,max scariness & evil they usually run away from you in fear or you get comments. Its fun when you zap them with lightning & make their heads explode.
