Controller Support
I owned this game back in the day for the original xbox, please update so that it has controller support, it really gives you the full effect of this great game when the controller is in your hand.

Microsoft can't think of everything guys, they are busy counting their money.

http://pinnaclegameprofiler.com/ just click the download button]

I doubt that Lionhead will add gamepad support as the game is old and dated now.
I recommend Stud's solution.

I actually would rather reccomend you use this http://fabletlcmod.com/forum/index.php?t=msg&goto=25962& since xpadder was free (this is an older version, but works great with Fable). It comes with a really well made profile adding controller support to a game otherwise not playable with a controller.

I was going to recommend Xpadder but wasn't sure if there was a better program out already.
Cheers, Trickbiker. :)

Sigh bought the game to replay it with a controller. Waste of money.

Seriously? You mean to tell me that one of the best RPGs of the 2000s is ruined because you can't use your controller?

Some people (me included) have had terrific games with brilliant storylines, characters, gfx and all the bells and whistles totally ruined by horrible mouse accelleration or dampening, terrible camera controls or the inability to rebind all the keys exaclty the way we want.

When PC gamers who favour KB/M (like me) complain about shoddy KB/M controls, most people understand. When PC gamers who like controllers complain, the feedback is mostly snobbish BS about how their criticisms are invalid, because 'JUST USE FRICKIN KB/M, CONSOLERO!'

How 'bout a little tolerance and understanding from both sides?

Especially in this case, as it's a console port - so gamepad controls should've been a no-brainer. What's wrong with gamepads, joysticks, steering wheels, flight controls etc anyway? There's always a right tool (sometimes several) for a particular job.

Imagine some real hardcore flightsimmers being ridculed for not just using KB/M like real PC Heroes but buying all their gadetty plastic toys like little console kids. *rolleyes*

Yes it is. I've played in with mouse back when it was released. Now I wanted to play it with a controller because I know it would be played better with one.

Since it has negative mouse acceleration, the lock on enemies is ridicilous with mouse and keyboard, the menu has 10 fps with mouse, they didn't even care about making one thing optimal for pc and I dont know what else.. yes. This game is a waste of money to buy on pc. This game has the most memories to me, it was the best rpg with the best character development, but the controls just make it close to unplayable.

Just the fact that 'quit' isn't immediately at the main menu but somewhere down options makes you realize that they didn't give a ratsass about the pc version. I bought this game because of the memories I had, they kinda took advantage of it. It's a 1 on 1 console port, unplayable for pc.

I've tried a few of the options.. Pinnacle/Xpadder neither work well enough imho, I appreciate the game is a bit long in the tooth now, but is it really too much to ask to add some proper controller options.. doesn't make any sense to me why the Xbox control scheme wasn't copied wholesale.. seems a complete no-brainer afaic

I wouldn't go as far as to call it unplayable. I've played it several times despite its shortcomings. And I always imagined the devs trusted PC gamers to know that you can quit the game instantly with alt+F4 (ya know, those age-old keyboard shortcuts every windows user should know by now) without rummaging through the menus...
