I recommend Stud's solution.
Cheers, Trickbiker. :)
Seriously? You mean to tell me that one of the best RPGs of the 2000s is ruined because you can't use your controller?
When PC gamers who favour KB/M (like me) complain about shoddy KB/M controls, most people understand. When PC gamers who like controllers complain, the feedback is mostly snobbish BS about how their criticisms are invalid, because 'JUST USE FRICKIN KB/M, CONSOLERO!'
How 'bout a little tolerance and understanding from both sides?
Especially in this case, as it's a console port - so gamepad controls should've been a no-brainer. What's wrong with gamepads, joysticks, steering wheels, flight controls etc anyway? There's always a right tool (sometimes several) for a particular job.
Imagine some real hardcore flightsimmers being ridculed for not just using KB/M like real PC Heroes but buying all their gadetty plastic toys like little console kids. *rolleyes*
Since it has negative mouse acceleration, the lock on enemies is ridicilous with mouse and keyboard, the menu has 10 fps with mouse, they didn't even care about making one thing optimal for pc and I dont know what else.. yes. This game is a waste of money to buy on pc. This game has the most memories to me, it was the best rpg with the best character development, but the controls just make it close to unplayable.
Just the fact that 'quit' isn't immediately at the main menu but somewhere down options makes you realize that they didn't give a ratsass about the pc version. I bought this game because of the memories I had, they kinda took advantage of it. It's a 1 on 1 console port, unplayable for pc.
I wouldn't go as far as to call it unplayable. I've played it several times despite its shortcomings. And I always imagined the devs trusted PC gamers to know that you can quit the game instantly with alt+F4 (ya know, those age-old keyboard shortcuts every windows user should know by now) without rummaging through the menus...
