Controller Support?
Any suggestions for good programs to trick the game into letting me play on a controller?

Honestly the keyboard controls just feel too awkward, klunky, etc, to me. But in-game choices for controls do not allow for controller.

I'm going to be trying XPadder this afternoon but I would like to know more about other options in case it doesn't work out for me. Thanks~!

Oh. Xpadder demands upfront payment, no trial period. Freakin lame.

So I'm not using Xpadder apparently.

I want to try before I buy.

Yeah, I know, but I have wrist problems that make gaming with the KB/M setup very inconvenient. Usually I can get games that aren't spesifically supported to work anyway by remapping the controlls, but it refuses to allow me to remap them enough.

my suggestion is shell out like $59.99 or $49.99 or whatever it is and buy the steam controller. if you look on the steam controller store page it states something like it will work with any game on steam whether or not it was intended to use a controller or not. :Rubber_Duck:

Hey thanks so much for the suggestion! I've been planning on getting a steam controller.

Anyone tried if it's worked with this game? :NorminGreen:

no clue how well it does what it claims it does as I have not had the money to buy it yet. I really hope that it works like it says it works cause I wanna play the older tomb raider games with it as they do not support mouse and I am a keyboard AND MOUSE gamer. just a keyboard throws me off and out of a game so quick but if I had a controller that worked on them I might actually play them like I did on the PS systems.
well, glad I was able to give a good suggestion. please if/when you get the steam controller post back and let the rest of us know how well it works.
also don't forget you must be in big picture mode in order for it to work.:Rubber_Duck:

Yep, and again thanks so much. After I get a steam controller I will report back!

My fiancee has a lot of hours at work this month so I've got my fingers crossed we can afford some extras (like the controller, maybe a couple games? lol)

Heck, I may even make a youtube channel dedicating to finding good options and doing reviews for other gamers like me, who can't stand using typical keyboard/mouse set-ups, eventually.

you can use pinnacle game profiler. From what I've seen on some threads I heard there are alot of bugs and issues and freezing. Well, you could try setting Fable TLC on compatibility mode for Windows XP(Service Pack 3). This prevents the game from having errors with its game cache when verified. Then try setting Pinnacle Game Profiler on compatibility mode for Windows XP(Service Pack 3) - the same as for the game. By doing this I believe it allows you to use your controller settings for the game without any issues except freezing when using too much magic spells.

I'll give this a try for in the meanwhile, thanks so much!

Hah, too much magic. I only use magic swords and summon, because that's really all you need to win. Max it out and you hardly take damage. Oh, and if you don't want to eat take heal 1.

Check out antimicro..Its a free, open sourced x-padder.

Edit: I'll also add that it seems like keyboard is superior anyway, but its up to the individual to decide. If this game had true controller support, it would work a lot better than assigning keyboard keys to a controller, seeing how certain keyboard keys are assigned to 2 or 3 things. There's also the issue with gestures, and using the bow with the mouse will be easier as well.

Hey, maybe i'm late, but i know your feeling, i was playing this game on Xbox, when i saw i had to use m/kb i was a bit disappointed (but i managed to play it anyway)
I've come to see if you bought the steam controller, and if you reccomend it
This is my favorite game, so a review of the steam controller based on this game could be useful
have a good day!

PS : easy money : buy like 100 gem, go to a shop, sell them all, buy them all, repeat etc, work well, just take time

PPS : if you really want to play it with a controller, you can buy Fable Anniversary, it support controller and is the exact same as lost chapter (+achievements, steam cards, workshop etc), but it doesn't look good, it's almost horrific what they did to the game

hi Mistertoto. I haven't gotten the controller yet unfortunately! Not sure if I failed to check out properly or if it's in the mail.

Thanks for the suggestions!

You're welcome!
And it's okay, I'm just interested in buying one of those, but I don't know if it's worth it, as 360 controllers work pretty well on a lot of games
