Where to use the Spade Shovel

I'm tired of watching the little icon for the spade symbol. People might want to put tips here on the kind of things to watch for to dig with the spade.

I found an oval of red flowers, and an oval of tall mushroom things in which to dig. Perhaps that's something to watch for.

I found a red glowing gargoyle statue along a path. So, things that glow??

I also found an unmarked place inside of a barn but, that's not much of an indicator.

There are specific places where you can dig things out of the ground, and they're not usually in places you wouldn't expect. Look for small patches of dirt, or stones circling a small patch of dirt, and graveyards. I can only think of two dig spots off the top of my head that weren't obvious. There's the one on Oakvale between the two boats on the beach, where you dig up Lady Grey's necklace when you get on that quest, and the other one is in Witchwood under a gargoyle statue.
