How's the story?

I'm not interested in the gameplay that much, it looks like GeOW, which isn't my kind of thing.

However I'd easily look past the gameplay if the story was really good. I remember back when it was first coming out, that was a major selling point for it. So is it worth it for the story alone?

I thought the story was quite good. I had good things about it in the past and heard someone talking about it on the Giant Bombcast recently so I finally decided to finish it. Really fun and interesting story with great characters.

Definately an underrated game and it is currently 50% off so you really can't go wrong. You may want to wait because it may go on a flash sale or something and get bumped up to 75% off.

Yes, I'd say the same thing about the story. I'll also say that it's the most fun I've ever had in a third-person shooter and has plenty of variety. You never feel like you're entering the same room twice.

Played it when it first came out on PS3 and loved it. Gameplay is a blast if you're a fan of TPS and the story is really good with nice twists to keep it interesting.

it is very generic and quite boring. The black guy that follows you is irritating as hell, and speaks to you like you are a child. Robot, after robot, afte robot. I never even noticed when i was changing levels. It really is the lazyest of lazy console ports.

The person asked about the story, not gameplay. It's just another 3rd person shooter, yes, but the story was fantastic, worth for the story.

A very good story, it's the games strongest point really.
There are multiple endings depending on how you treat your crew.
This is by far one of the best story driven shooters I have ever played.
Also don't skip the credits :D

The story reminds me of "Ghost in the Shell" and it is pretty well paced. It also has this Mass Effect side-character developement going on, so that's always a plus for the story.

Creeping Featuritis said it pretty good. But yeah I personally liked the story quite a bit.

I was initially talking about the story, very generic and boring. The acting is terrible, there is more cut scenes than Max Payne 3 (but at least in MP3 they were worth watching). Fighting robots is very boring.

Pretty much every character in the game is a caricature, not just the black guy.

Classic melodramatic Sega cut scenes. I love it. Just don't bring Bo along for any missions.

i can't remember the last time i played a TPS with a story as engrossing as BD's.

The story really picks up steam in the last couple chapters. The twist is ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ insane, too. I was shocked that it was making me question what it means to truly be human. It's definitely worth playing!

btw good game, good story (the game has a really great rhythm to it, it transitions seamlessly throughout the chapters, no strange pauses, really well done), good graphics, good gameplay, get it.
