Binary Domain

Binary Domain

This game is a disaster
Voice doesn't work, controls are totally messy and unpredictible, I just don't understand how this game could possibly pass any quality assurance gate review and reach the market.
Voice acting is absolutely not convincing (playing fr version), game is just an shooter in tunnels, immersion is null.
It is a pitty cause graphics are ok and there are definitely some ideas there but the whole thing is totally ruined by the realization.

hmm i cant confirm any of the stuff u said

i played eng version and i really like the voice acting.

controls are just so perfect, that i couldnt decide if i play with xbox controller (for comfort) or with mouse/keyboard (for headshots) i did both, both works (i cant aim with a controller thou) and i ended using mouse/keyboard

and what are even the definite ideas? to choose ur teammates or to gain/loose trust?^^

The worst problems I had happened when I had to control the Crane. I prefer playing with keyboard & mouse but I really had to switch back on XBOX controller for the crane. And even here, I was using funny buttons. I also checked the parameters (before game) and everything loogs good there.
Gamepad support is prob worst in this game by time you set it up you wish you chose keyboard+mouse this suprised me since I would expect something like this from older games then this one

Voice controls well hickups are expected even if you fluent in english that doesn't mean it will register those exact words you speak at least they did add option to switch to controls instead to use voice to give commands

No idea about other languages but for English voice acting is just fine in this game

Binary Domain is great game but I can't help get a feeling like its rushed as if people had gun pointed at their head
Voice acting isn't bad but the dialogue is so poorly written. I cringed everytime I heard Bo say Dawg
The game is awesome. You can go back to COD.

I have to say that things improved. Looks like there was some corruption on my settings and I couldn't get them right. I have reinstalled windows completely and then faced major issues to simply call up the settings. Don't ask me how, why, but I finally get the things back to normal. Now the controls are fair and the game is playable. I still believe there is some sort of glitch on setup and I think it would be of some value to understand where settings are stored to simply delete them when necessary... didn't find that.
Thanks to those who confirmed the game was ok, that helped me to persevere.

There are some files in the savedata folder that look related to settings and all that.

English voices are fine.
Controls are weird.
Mouse acceleration is one of the worst I have every played - this game is almost unplayable.
Joypad support is ... ugh, present, but again the acceleration is so terrible, that even pad doesn't really help.
Setting, story, characters, gameplay, mechanics, weapons, enemies, upgrades - all those are actually nice.

What a sad joke - controls - mouse are total ♥♥♥♥. In this regard this is one of the wors games I played.
100% you have no clue what mouse acceleration is.

I played the german version of the game. Everything is allright for me, good mouse/keyboard controlls. A middle good voice control, good fps . Sooo..... I dont know why so many persons say thats a "bad" game ^^''
For a game made by the man responsible for the Yakuza series, I was expecting something better.

The controls for mouse + keyboard seem like they were mapped by a mental patient whose sole goal in life was to see how many players would be irritated by the defaults.

The prompts on screen are confusing and downright lazy. A generic "M" in the form of a keyboard key being used to encourage a mouse3 click is absurd.

I'm likely alone in the thought that the voice command function felt like it was a holdover from something SEGA had up their sleeve back when the Dreamcast was still on the market. Given how dodgy it can be vs. developed fully, it just gives off that "we're trying this out" vibe that certain Dreamcast titles gave off (which, despite how good many Dreamcast titles were, was not always a good thing).

I have a hard time believing anyone praised this game so highly, especially as far as this PC port is concerned. In addition to the technical flaws, it's hard not to see it for the generic third-person tactics shooter it is.

It's hard to forget.
The controls take some getting used to, but they are not rocket science. Geesh, Ive played literally a thousand plus games and the controls were tight 90% of the time. The game was a blast. Albeit the dialog was a little campy. But Most seasoned gamers know what to expect coming from Japan. Whining about a game you did nothing to help create. Why did you buy it then? Thats not very smart?..
