No 4:3 screen res support
even after setting the values to my correct resolution in the configuration file inside the installation folder I could not get the game to run in 4:3 without black bars on the screen.

Has anyone had this issue?

Do you intentionally wish to stretch the game horizontally?

No? i wish to play the game in 4:3

Because most screens now use the 16:9 or 16:10 ratio. Unless you're playing on an older square-ish television, 4:3 will always have black bars.

Look at your screen.
~Rectangle = 16:9/16:10
~Square = 4:3

If you try playing 4:3 on a 16:9/16:10 screen it will result in black bars. If you're trying to do something else though, and I'm getting at the wrong thing, I can't help you there. Sorry.

Hollapeno is correct, unless you're the one guy playing on an old square monitor.

I know exactly what 4:3 and 16:9 means, thanks. Almost every game I attempt to play on my screen it works at its standard resolution except for a few where the dev's clearly didnt put that much extra work into making sure it works on all different types of hardware.

4:3 is for really. REALLY old square tv's/monitors, most things won'yt support them as they're out of date, like in any case with technology, for example you don't see people making ps2 games just cause people still have one

actually, my screen is from 2012, its not old hardware. and your wrong, most games I play do support this resolution, only low budget ones seem to not.

Ok I was wrong then, fair enough, but why would you want your screen that size?

Thanks man, yeah I've tired it and it actually works for some games, Ill be honest I have not tried it for this one, Ill do that. Usually its just for uber widescreen multimonitor setups but it's ability to force resolutions on some games helps.

The reason I have the screen this size is becasue it is a pro art monitor that allows you to draw on it as well as use it as a monitor, the newer ones are widescreen but mine was made when they were still 4:3.

I wasn't sure if i should have posted it since the name suggests something totally different compared to 4:3 but the abilities it has for some games (the AR correction for BinaryDomain as example) maybe will help with the problem. Good luck. :D
