Having controller issues (Controller input selection isn't being saved)
So I finally get the chance to replay the game and it's giving me issue when playing with a 360 controller or rather controllers in general as I first tried the Steam controller and had these first then it kept happening with the 360 (though that only had the trigger issues going up and down with the view). The mapping is somehow all over the place with the triggers moving my view up and down instead of aim and firing, which are now the start and back buttons, while those are the Left click and Right click. I tried checking the settings options and originally I couldn't switch to the 360 controller for some reason. I uninstalled and reinstalled the game and now I can, but even after selecting/saving the 360 controller as my input, the issue still occurs and every time I go back to the settings, the input is set to keyboard instead of 360 despite saving (even running as admin). I'm literally stumped by this, any one know of this issue and how to solve this.

I thought it was my steam controller, but I tried it and my 360 controller on other games, no issues, thought it my be old Xbox One controller causing issues with the drivers, but after plugging that in to uninstall the drivers, no changes to the issue. Any help would be appreciated!

Don't worry about the input selection in the configuration tool, it always defaults back to keyboard when you launch it, but that doesn't mean that the keyboard is your selected input device when in-game, it just means that right now you'd be changing the keyboard bindings if you change anything. Just make sure that you select the option to show controller buttons in-game, which is seperate.

Anyway, your controller issue is well known, I think it affects everyone. It is also incredibly simple to fix.

1.) Do not launch the game through the Steam client, that's what disables the right stick and puts shooting on the start button.

2.) Connect the controller *after* launching the game or you get randomly mixed up button mappings.
