Graphics device is invalid, please run the configuration tool

Whenever I try to open Binary Domain I get a "critical error" message saying "graphics device is invalid, please run the configuration tool" can anyone please tell me why I get this and how to fix it?

When you open the config menu (Right click on the game in your library and click "Configure Binary Domain") click the first drop down box and select your video card. Even if it's already selected by default, just click on it again. It's a weird bug, I get it everytime I run the game after restarting my computer.

I may be 6 years late but I managed to get configuration tool to read my RTX 2060 by choosing the software from nvidia control panel and make it run on rtx. However it did not fix the problem. But it may be an improvement for those search for this issue and come here.

i installed it after years again, on my new machine here.
RTX 2070 S and no prpblems at all.

First you use NVIDIA or AMD software to change default graphic card in BinaryDomainConfiguration.exe and BinaryDomain.exe from game dir.
Second open BinaryDomainConfiguration.exe and open/edit UserCFG.txt from savedata dir.
Next you exactly write in UserCFG your graphics card name from BinaryDomainConfiguration.exe
I write " description="NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M" " upper case letters are important.
Save file and play.

Still didn't work. I played it on ps3, I guess let old games die... pos game.
