How do you give empty-eyes the skellington a boat?

he's not standing on a dock. I parked it as close as I could and it won't take. I can fly and I have three ships on this dumb island. How do I give him this stupid boat to finish the quest? The quest says any boat. This is a boat. Take the boat. Walk ten feet to the shore line and you can have a boat. Take my boat you stupid skellington. Take it. I want those spirit gems. Give them to me, in exchange for this boat. I have a boat.

He needs a boat from the other side of the island that can be spawned from this merchant house. Just talk to the merchant and pay him 3000 gold for a boat, the boat will be tan in color.

Took me a while to figure out, was offering him all kind of boats, but he wouldnt be happy with any of them.

this isnt a necro because this post helped me today. But its not 100% correct so i want to chime in

Even if you have the boat from the merchant house, it wont work, you have to buy another AFTER you accept the quest from the skeleton

So if anyone has this problem in the future they can hopefully resolve it faster than it took me

but nothin's post ultimately lead to me fixing the quest so thanks so much dudes
