Use a custom map in AA: PG
Evening all,

This may be asked before but in that case I couldn't find that post.

Recently me and a couple friends decided that we wanted to host a server (as in buy some server space and run a server 24/7). On that server we'd like to play the FLO_Pipeline map created by McReady in the SteamWorkshop.

Well, I subscribed the map etc. but it seems rather hard to find the map in-game (before putting money into it I'd like to walk the map and see what I'm hosting etc.). That alone seems impossible for some reason. Could anyone think of some sort of walk-though (how to find the map or put in in-game) for me ?

Weird thing is that I can find all sort of 'user made maps' in-game which i haven't subscribed to at all.

Kind Regards,
JulianSnow.

Hi Medermann,

Thanks for the walk through and I think it's gonna be real handy when I've launched my server but, it's still impossible for me to add the map to my current game (and walk the map).

So, my question simplified: how do I add the map (ID = 296158492) to my local game ?

Kind Regards,

The game doesn't support single player. However, you can set up your own server and join it, on the same machine

Oh, haha. I wonder why I didn't think of it that way. Thanks for the help!

Edit: When I pick "Host a dedicated AA server" I can't run the game anymore (it keeps refering to the server manager), so how do I host a server on my PC and play on it with just 1 PC available ? Also, when I'm in-game why can't I add this map (242972318) to the training section under the tab 'user made maps' ?

Then in the walkthought it says "Run the server and it will begin downloading the maps" with a specified path on your PC, that is also not working for me. The server manager does say it has downloaded the map (if I open the 'setup UGC maps' button) but if I follow this path: "G:\Steam\steamapps\common\America's Army\AAPG\Binaries\Win32\steamapps\workshop\content\203290\242972318" the server will just leave a 'legacy.bin' file. So I'm missing the 2 files described in the walkthough :( (metadata and the .umap file).
