Black Ops 2 PC will not launch

Add me to the list of people that cannot get my COD BO 2 to launch. I got the game for Christmas, but just installed it a couple days ago. When I go to start the game my screen goes all black and my mouse pointer becomes the spinning circle showing that it's loading. However, nothing happens. This happens with the campaign, MP, and Zombies. I have waited as long as 15 minutes and have not been able to get any of the BO2 games to launch. When I go to Task Manager to stop the COD BO2 Process, it says the game is not responding and I will get a message saying "Error During Initialization. Unhandled Exception Caught." All of my other COD games on Steam work just fine.

This is not a hardware problem. I'm on Windows Vista Home Premium 64-bit SP2. I have an Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHz, EVGA NVIDIA GeForce GTX570 with 1280MB GDDR5, ASRock P67Extreme4 Gen3 mobo, and 8GB of DDR3.

I have tried the following various suggestions I have found online and still cannot get it to launch.

Updated my NVIDIA Drivers. Currently have 310.90.
Updated my Bios.
Windows is up to date.
Install and uninstalled the game numerous times, both from the disk and Steam download.
Verified game cache file for single player, mp, and zombies.
Run steam as an Administrator.
Disabled Steam Cloud Sync for all three games.
Run ...\Steamapps\Common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\redist\vcredist_x86.exe
Run ...\Steamapps\Common\Call of Duty Black Ops II\redist\DirectX\dxsetup.exe

I have never had this issue with any previous COD game or other game on Steam where I have not been able to get the game to even run. This is frustrating and a complete waste of $60 if I can't get the game to run.

If anyone has any other suggestions I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

So just so I understand, why did disabling my SB Audigy work? I assume this is some sort of bug with the game?

I have the same problem, i can´t play singleplayer or multiplayer mode. Can anyone solve this problem?

In 'theory' this bug should have been fixed in previous patches, but maybe they rebroke it in the new patch? I realize not using your SB Audigy isn't a great 'solution' but at least you know how to get the game working. Try deleting the hardware.chp files I talked about before. Enable the SB Audigy. then start the game again. I'd try fiddling with the sound settings and see if you can get the SB Audigy working again.

I need a better description than 'not working' as that doesn't describe anything.

Run the game offline work, but i don´t want play offline.

You didn't mention any hardware.chp files in my post, but I saw that you mentioned them in another post. I deleted those files and the game now works with my SB Audigy card. Thanks again for all your help.

Satro I have a similar problem call of duty black ops 2 will start with a black screen and will then when I wait for it to start it won't then I have to start task manager and then there call of duty black ops 2 console will appear with the error unhandled exception please help

1 gb nvidia external graphic card
1 gb inbuilt intel hd graphic card

AMD Phenom II at 3.0 Ghz Quad Core
Memory - 6 gbs
OS - Windows 7 home premium
Graphics - Twin Nvidia GTS 8800s at 620 mbs ram per card

I was able to play this game when it had the free period awhile ago. Im not understanding why it wont work now. Ive done everything at this point. The game goes black screen when i start it then it crashes to desktop with the game still running. No error messages or anything.
Would rather not have another game that i wasted money on. Please help.
