Does the game still work in 2025?
I really really wanna get this for nostalgia feels but 20 bucks while on sale is a big risk because i dont really have much money.

So my question is can i get it and play in private with just bots or hackers can still get to me and my 8 year old broken pc?

Or do i gotta install the pluton thing that everyone says and if its safe
Thing is i have no idea how to install outside apps or combine folders at all,0 knowledge for that kind of stuff.

So do i try or let the nostalgia go off ?

it works, but the game is generally unsafe to play. i've played every here and there. I haven't ran into the danger that everyone's talking about (or maybe I have and never ended up victim to it) but it IS there, it DOES exist and you should be warned you are playing at your own risk.

as of private lobbies, yes they can still enter those.. are they likely to? unless you're streaming or a content creator then probably not no, i'd argue the same for PRIVATE zombies matches.

Campaign is completely safe.

in short, you CAN play the game on it's official servers but due to security issues it's not the most recommended way to play on PC anymore, will you fall victim to it if you just want to go in and play against some bots? or even one or two public games? imo probably not. but it's still at own risk

if you aren't confident on installing the client i'm sure someone would be happy to help you install plutonium on their official discord server.
