How do I add CD CoD: BO2 to Steam?
How do I do it? I recently got Cod Bo2 on CD as I would rather get it on Amazon for £18.99 than on Steam for £39.99.

Did you buy the game alone, or just the cd. If you bought just the cd, You cannot add it to steam. But if you got a fresh copy, There should be a steam activation code.

Wrong. You can add a non-steam game even if he doesn't have a CD key. Go to your Library, Games (At the top manue above Library) and go to "Add a non-steam game" and select or browser the game you want to add and it will add it for you. IF you have a steam CD key, go to Games --> Activate a Product on Steam --> Put the CD Code in --> And click ok or what ever it says.

I bought a brand new CD copy of COD:BO2. However I don't know if the key-code with it is specifically a Steam key. Or if it will work on Steam even if it's not specifically a Steam key. I am a little reluctant to just try in case something goes wrong and I lose the key.

Any ideas anyone please.

The Game requires Steam anyway to play it,
There is no "Non-Steam" Version of this Game available on the PC.

Woh! Well that's that sorted. Time to try it out. Heheh. Thank you.

EDIT: It's worked and installed 12GB of the 15GB required for complete updated install, from the discs. Nice saver on download allowance. Just update 3GB.

BO2 is not a non-steam game. So, your whole post is irrelevant.

EDIT -

I didn't see Theblaze had already pointed out that BO2 requires Steam. So, sorry for the late post.

Yeah it's definintely Steam, however there is no Steam marking on the DVD cover. The only reference to Steam on the cover is a tiny bit of text, in the 'Internet Connection Required' description.

When I put the DVD in the PC drive a small opened with a little Steam icon - top left. After installing from DVD there was only about 0.5GB to update.

Shame I don't like the game much so far.
