Why COD price never go down?
Why Cod games prices never go down? They are sold the same full price as 3, 5, 8, 10 12 years ago when each game were launch? This is the only game in steam that I check sometime that the full price of the game never go down?

What's worse is, if you end up paying top dollar for this 2012 game they'll probably just end up making a press statement in a few months time that they're releasing a remaster for about the same price!

Because is always selling and people still want these old games?
Only few games have more than 50% off due was never popular and have some negative reviews.
Drop the price could make some players back to old titles and at same time the company could have less sold in new games.
This franchise only care about money.

even if you dont take steam into consideration, i buy a lot of console games at a local pawn shop and even used at eb games, cod3 doesnt seem to go down much in price. Is it really that much better than the rest of them?

They also try maintain a high price and crappy sales to not 'devalue the brand' which can be a thing, no doubt Bobby Kotick is behind that decision. The extra money also goes towards his massive yearly bonuses.

Also is it still even getting played? I mean in a multiplayer sense. To me that really is the only reason to go back and buy it, but if the servers are dead this price is just still to high. :steamfacepalm:

Because Activision is trash.

Maybe there's a hope for you, it's (with the entire franchise) is 50% sale in Brazilian Steam.

Yeah I don't think I'll be paying 900$ for a 3/4 dead franchise, Thanks though.

Activision keeps the COD prices on Steam high because they want to force Steam users who want to play those games here to go buy them and play on Activision's battleDOTnet system, a competitor with Steam.

They're doing it because if people buy their games from Activision's battleDOTnet they make more money, so they don't care if the players are
unhappy about the fact battledotnet has way less features than Steam.

The full price still the same since release date even in older games like Call of Duty 1/2 so in 2035 the full price will be the same and rarely getting around 50% off in big sales.
50% off in old titles still expensive.

Yes, that's the point I was getting to: they are keeping prices on Steam unreasonably high because they want to force players to go buy COD games on Activision's battledotnet.

It really seems as if Activision has just been following Nintendo in the way they never drop any prices of their games, I mean they could have titles from when the game first released all the way to the next title in the franchise and still have the price marked at 60$.
