3 steam grid icons, 1 game?
Why do I have separate icons for multiplayer and Zombies in steam grid? The main menu in COD BO2 allows me to select those 2 options anyway right, so why the 2 extra icons at all?

Because it saves time if you want to play Zombies, Multiplayer, or Singleplayer. Instead of just making one icon and having to wait 5 minutes for it to load, then to launch Multiplayer or Zombies. It was made that way to save time :D

BO2 is a huge game, just like the first one was. Splitting it up into 3 parts (Campaign, Multiplayer and Zombies) gives players more options. If your internet connection has low bandwidth and you really want to play zombies, you can schedule that part to download first. If you've finished the campaign, and just play MP and zombies now, you can delete that component and free up memory space. Or, in my case, the campaign for the first Black Ops barely runs on my laptop, though the multiplayer runs perfectly, so I just only installed the multiplayer. TBH, I'm surprised more triple-A developers don't use this method.

I agree but.. You have to download the base game first to play COD Zombies.. So, it does not really save downloading time :)

Every Call of Duty game needs you to install both the Multiplayer and Singleplayer so it doesn't really change anything.

Not quite, I have 5 or 6 cod games installed, and I chose to only install the SP portion.

You will get problems if you don't install both, at least on the MP side.
