Attention Captains,

Minor Patch 1.5.1 has been released for Astra Protocol 2.

This patch enables music to be played in game, set up using the config screen. Whilst intended for use with the upcoming Audio Pack DLC, it can be adjusted to play your own music.

We're planning to have the free Audio Pack DLC release in the next few days.

There was also a fix regarding a missing transmission for a science mission.

Docked to a station, now what?

Manual says nothing about this, there are no commands, I datalinked first to request dock, then I went through the gruelling procedure of docking, did that, got nothing, tried to abort link and establish again, when I look at details no matter what I do, scan, abort link, data link , it remains "unknown" and all it started differently was "no matching record found in memory banks" What is even the point of docking?...

Bug? Slow game speed!

I was watching this play through video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lWH83ndTN8I&list=PLsYaAtYv_5eVVb7C8qSwFbNpQ7vI0qye8&index=6 and I noticed that his game runs a lot faster than mine, I think it may be twice as fast. From the beginning, I've found the game speed to be too slow/sluggish to be fun and the speed of his game seems a lot better. We both seem to be playing version 1.2.0.0 so we should be playing the same version. For example, when I open one of the modules and the frames are dr...

Audio Pack DLC and Soundtrack

Attention Captains,

Just to let you know that we have two sets of downloadable content planning to be launched in a week or two (pending the approvals process) - an Audio Pack DLC and game soundtrack.

The Audio Pack DLC is a collection of six ambient tracks that have been created to play in the background whilst playing Astra Protocol 2, and will tie in with the upcoming v1.5.1.0 minor patch. This patch will simply allow users to turn on music and select a directory for it to play from.

We'll be launching this music free of charge, but as a DLC rather than as a patch due to its size and that some players may prefer to play without a soundtrack.

Additionally, we'll be making the tracks available for purchase separately, featuring the addition of the track used in the game's trailer.

We're also planning a v1.6 patch with more features, but more on that in the future.

Route plotting gives whack routes?

Whenever i start a new run I do the long range scan, get the coordinates, I try to target something like -00000004184,-00000011629 (are the 0's even needed?) and it plots a route that seems to have waypoints completely off-target. Additionally, if I then perform the long range scan it gives wildly different coordinates, even with only a few units of distance between first and last scan. What gives? I would wish the manual said more about the autopilot and how one specifically types in the vectors....

Speedometer?

Speed is clearly important since going fast blocks your radar, but you can't see how fast you are actually going. You can see how fast other ships are going if you target them, you can set the autopilot to stop and it will zero your speed. But you can't actually zero your speed yourself in any meaningful way because you can't see what it is, you get a bearing for what direction you are moving but not how fast. It also makes it very hard to understand how speed works. There is clearly some sort of newtonia...

Attention Captains,

The Patch 1.5 for Astra Protocol 2 is now live!

Space stations have come online and can provide benefits to you on your exploration and investigation into the Astra Protocol.

This patch brings a mix of new features, improvements and bug fixes:

New Features

Can request to DRYDOCK with space station - docking will allow ship to be repaired
Can request RESUPPLY from a space station - docking will resupply ship resources
Space stations have resources specified on creation

Changes and Improvements

Adjusted the scan range and rate of all ships
Window position is stored between sessions
Optional config option to allow your missiles to hit your fighters (turned off by default)
Space station spawn logic adjusted
Space stations only spawn in undiscovered space - you can no longer go back and forth to find a space station that wasn’t there before
Space stations shouldn’t spawn too close together
Game version stored in save file
Config menu rearranged to fit on smaller screens better

Documentation

Explanation that the game uses a Newtonian physics model
Explanation that long range scan uses relative and not absolute coordinates
Explanation about how to reread a transmission
Explanation that the TARGET option only works within a certain range
New commands added to user manual
New commands added to quick start guide

Bug Fixes

Transmissions and log timestamps shouldn’t be negative on loading a save
Heliosaurs can no longer spawn in empty space
Missiles will complete a reload / firing operation if the game was saved and reloaded mid process
Rift worms highlight properly
Lasers will now lock onto all lifeforms properly
Docking HUD has the port and starboard umbilicals and airlocks labelled properly
Space time anomalies will now close if the game was saved and reloaded during a rift worm spawn
Ordnance screen no longer displays TARGET LOCKED when no target is locked
Crystalline entities will now actually spawn
Fixed compass on navigation screen
Fixed height bars and adjusted zoom for space stations being viewed in the scientific details screen
Refuelling fighters will no longer be flagged as RETURNING when docked
Fixed crash on config screen if second monitor is unplugged between sessions
Links in PDF manual restored

We hope that these improvements should enhance your experience with Astra Protocol 2 and encourage you to utilise some of the newer features implemented in earlier patches, as well as addressing some feedback we have received from players.
