Thoughts on witch's staff (spoilers)
Has anyone found a use for this one? At first I thought it would be good on my witch, but it's really not. Then I was thinking I wonder a RK can use it, they can't.
Is there any reason this works on a witch any better than the demon staff?

Hi, Can you clarify a little? What's an RK? There isn't any class with those initials.

Also, how did you get a demon staff? I can craft Supreme staves and a Staff of nature, and there's the witch's staff and angel staff. I'm wondering if there's a secret room I've missed on a story mission.

As far as I've seen, the Staff of Nature is slightly better than the Witch's staff (same magic attack, but higher magical penetration), but the difference is small enough that I prefer my witch character to have a witch's staff.

Presumably they meant the Arcane Knight, as that class would benefit from the various melee bonuses, but, as noted, can't actually equip staves.

The demonic staff is the one you get from a normal story mission (I think it's the one with the vampires, but don't quote me on that), that gives nice metamagic feats like Quick casting.

The witch's staff is the one you get from finally beating the witch herself, which has more of a physical focus and is thus somewhat wasted on what is likely to be a squishy caster who shouldn't be anywhere near the front lines.

I must have missed the one with the demon staff. By the one with the vampires, you mean one of the three witch's apprentice ones?

Yep, sorry was thinking Rune Knight, but yeah it's arcane knight

I believe I got the demon stave from one of the 3 apprentices, yes. So far it seems like the best stave I've found just from the clickies alone (boosted damage, longer range casting, etc), as long as you're on a team with a bard or someone that can keep your BP up.

Thanks. I remember it now. Yes - I abandoned using it for just that reason; the toll on the BP was troublesome. Thinking about it though, for late game it's probably a good choice as most battles are quick by then.

Not even much to do with the maps being quick. There are quite a few ways to recharge BP. Just my bard alone keeps the mage more than full.

I've used the witch staff briefly on my Bishop.

Not so much to actively attack, but for the free counter-attacks it provides. This combined with the stacking damage reduction skills Bishop gets made her more suited to being close to the front lines.

In addition, it gives both magical attack, magical penetration, and healing potency. So all in all, it is much better suited to a Bishop or Saint than to a (High) Mage or a Witch.

But I soon after found much better staves. So it's still pretty much a gimmick.

I'm not seeing any healing potency on mine. Just acc. and both magic and phys atk/pene. However, I might put it on that foul mouthed little brat priest and send her into melee. I think she even gets a taunt...

Ah, sorry, That was because I put a gem on it. Forgot.

But you have a point on Selene, she does seem like she'd really fit that staff.

Either that or maybe paladin.

Paladins cannot equip staves either. Just swords/shields. So that won't fly.

Yep, was more thinking of her job choice if the staff doesn't work out.

She is tiny, which means she gets a pretty big penalty to physical attacks and strength growth. As a bishop that's not a big deal, but as a paladin?

Doesn't sound like it would work out.
