I agree with Quanadia you will be more carefull after this fight
1°) Dev and game are fair and respectful. Saying they do not respect the player's time is a bit too much imho
2°) Each belt is independent. If played correctly, you can murder one, recover (but not "save"), and then move to the next one.
3°) Lvl 12 is a nice powerspike if you need to get there before trying again. You might also have an inadequate team composition.
4°) Video of my previous playthrough on slightly above Very Hard difficulty, team of lvl 8-12 (so same on avg as yours). Went without taking any dmg I think. If you need to find some inspiration :

5°) Couple steps further. Same fight on Nightmare difficulty (Ironman, Permadeath, all sliders at max : +100% HP, x2 enemies, +100% dmg +50 ACC on enemies, double regen, and crippled adventurers -30 ACC, -90 Healing, -50%xp and rewards... well, nightmare). I also used Doomclock so by that time enemies had +3 levels (so overall were around +150% on everything + new skills). Avg team level was 14 :

Hope that'll help. Good luck
I found the most annoying thing about the mission was that if you are unlucky then in the earlier fights a bandit teleporter can critical Misasa so that she runs away before she even has a chance to act.
I am used to play tactical games but I will look at your videos, thanks !
One thing to keep in mind is to try and stack bonuses for the fight: Rest and use abilities like the Guardian's that gives you extra AP, free spell for the high mage, that kind of thing. Also drink your potions BEFORE the fight, so they apply at the start automatically.
Second thing is to not focus on the bandit king, but kill all the goons first. The extra demons are a nasty surprise (I wont that fight in my first normal run, but it was a skin-of-teeth thing.) The bandit king starts all the way at the back, and from what I recall doesn't really act until you get closer, so you can pick the others off first.
If you kill the goons before the demons spawn, the battle is much easier.
My party:
1. Knight to draw enemy fire and tank
2. Bishop to keep the Knight alive.
3. Two High Mages (Alissa as one) to deal damage and stay out of the way
4. Ranger to pick off low HP foes, and multi-shot if you have the opportunity. Shadow step and positioning keep them out of harms way.
What I learned:
1. Don't rush in and deal with each level separately since the enemies on the higher level won't join in until attacked. Also, don't rush your units in range of melee and range attackers. Check each enemy's movement range, attack range, elemental weaknesses, and initiative order by mousing over each enemy and checking their skills to decide where to position your tank and your squishies.
2. I don't know if chest items are the same with every playthrough, but I found an SP regenerating aura banner in the dungeon which could be used to regen the entire party in between each level if you want to wait between levels and cheese the game.
3. My knight worked well enough to draw most of the attention and get most of the heals from my bishop. Buffing the knight with the mage shield spell (forgot what it's called) helped the knight survive. If you're using a knight, do not hit foes who counter directly and do not counter these foes unless you know they can take the blow. Instead, hit them indirectly with cleave. If you want Misasa to survive, keep her well out of the way and perhaps on item duty only since she will just be a liability. I got to the Bandit King a couple times only to have her wiped out.
4. Take each level separately and heal in between since each level doesn't attack until you do until you get to the top. The banner from number 2 if it's a guaranteed item helps cheese by regenerating SP. I don't know if I just got lucky.
5. I approached the final level from the side and positioned my Knight to draw fire and pin down the Bandit King and his minions. Having the counter ability and the opportunity attack ability were key to keeping damage focused on the knight. If you position your tank right, your other party members can camp at the edge of the level and fire attack and support spells without drawing much attention. Having additional spell range for both the Bishop and High Mages was super helpful. I kept Misasa on the lower level, well out of the fight.
I save the Bandit King for last and focus fire on the minions with my high mages and ranger. Avoid hitting the Bandit King with direct melee due to the counter attacks (and opt to not counter him if your knight can't take the hits). I used cleave with my knight to hit him indirectly and then smacked the King with earth spells to get him back adjacent to my Knight and focusing on him.
Don't position your Knight between the Bandit King and another party member because he has an attack that can hit through 5 tiles. This is how I lost Misasa the first time.
Again, right click your foes to check out if they have elemental weaknesses and use your mages accordingly.
Once I got to the second form, the minions were spawned in 4 adjacent squares. The second tier mage earth spell attack was perfect for maximizing damage to the minions and saving the King for last once again. Although I had to replay the King's first stage 4 times, I was able to take the second form out the first try with these earth spells and that holy light attack.
Since my guys were level 9, I didn't use any buffing potions, but you can of course buff your guys with potions before triggering the final level enemies. They weren't really necessary for my run, but I imagine you need to if you're going in under leveled.
They're not.
The general tier of the loot is fixed, but aside from unique items and scripted events you will find random ones each time.
So if you fight the troll, you will always get that acid potion to block its regen if you do that side event. But on this map you just find something random.
AFAIK only exception is the chest before the troll story quest fight (EDIT : and the one before the final bandit king fight with supplies/potions). There s always some gold, 2 medium physical attack postions and a rare fire staff.
Just did it on Hard with a level 8 group. Took me three tries - I went in blind and got caught off guard on the second try when I went all in on what I thought was the boss.
Here's the setup and strat I used if anyone cares. Keep in mind I'm no expert.
Born Leader Bard.
Elan Paladin.
Alissa Bishop.
Tanky Monk.
High MAB Frost High Mage.
Misasa (who I kept away for most of the fight as she was too fragile).
I had brought 4 Medium Health potions, 4 Medium Mana potions (thus 7 of each with those you find in the map) - used up all.the mana ones and 4 health - as well as 2 Medium Mage, 2 Medium Attack and 2 Medium Defense ones.
Took it somewhat slow. You can aggro the first three waves on your own terms. The mage AoEd down part of the first wave, Bard leader ensured my BP remained high throughout. Second wave is easy to split up if you attack from the sides. Grouped up before he third wave, buffed up (Mass Aegis, potions, Haste) then unleashed hell on the adds.
Once the boss was alone, whittled him down while keeping health up. He can be stunned (Paladin helped here) as can the followup boss. Dropped him late in the turn with my Mage's mana topped and over 70 BP. Adds were summoned, but honestly they have pretty low health and since they were grouped up they were easily cleared. The rest was a matter of keeping Aegis going and health up so he couldn't one-round anyone.
