Maybe you could increase gold rewards in the settings to make keeping mood up with money a trivial thing?
I appreciate the info on the ini-file, I'll look into it.
Once again, thank you!
I love the game! You really made something special that includes everyone. Thank you for your time and effort!
user>AppData>LocalLow>TheGreenGuy>Our Adventuring Guild
File name is OAConfig.ini
Open as a notepad and you'll see lots of different values you can modify.
But even after changing this file, you have to go to game options, Gameplay, all the way in the bottom there is a option "Use custom Configuration File" Enable that and enjoy.
Also, make sure to have a save backup just in case.
In that ini file to change the game, there are these options:
"BPDissatisfiedMultiplier=0.4
BPDisgruntledMultiplier=0.4
BPEagerMultiplier=0.6
BPEuphoricMultiplier=0.75"
Maybe if you change them your adventurers will be unhappy, but not leave you? or just take a lot more to get upset.
PS: trying to help, but using more then 1 or 2 party is what makes this game so pleasant to me like any other tactics game that you only need 1 main cast and you can steam role the game.
Maybe give it a try to play the game with more then 1 party see if you enjoy. don't try to 100% every map, i like to speed run dungeon's with my 3 and 4 teams, just to get the events or reward. And because i have many teams, i actually force myself to use classes or skills that i originally didn't think were that good, so i don't use on my main teams, and i discoverer they can be really good.
But as you said, enjoy the game the game the way you want to.
Cheers
Myself I like having many characters, but in this game it's too much for me when using all parties because of too many misc missions to do to sustain it.
I suppose a better balance, forgetting min/max, is 2 or 3 parties, and if more it's only for assignments.
A play seems very long so I'll probably won't chain with a replay, but if I do I'll try with one, two or three parties.
What's weird, is for now all NPC characters I saw are sort of OP thanks to their special skills and for Alisa her attributes grow past a point. So the single party is sort of already defined lol.
EDIT:
Interestingly Urtuk did the same bizarre design choice, some NPC being OP this breaking the global game design logic.
While the story NPCs are very strong, most are not necessarily stronger than random adventurers.
Elan for example can get pretty OP by the end, but he requires a LOT of extra skill points and his starting stats suck. A random adventurer with Talented and some other trait boosting strength can match him, and will be much stronger early on.
Alissa has good INT growth, but I've found many random adventurers that match or outclass her. (i.e. magically talented ones, with other INT boost traits.) Her best trait is that she boosts the value of loot you find and lets you rest less often, so she's mostly a good choice for convenience.
But you'd need to be quite lucky to find such adventurers.
Selene kind of sucks. Moving on.
Daryl and MIsasa are the most "broken" because they can do things random adventurers cannot.
Daryl gets his Lone Wolf ability and the accuracy-to-crit conversion, which makes him pretty crazy on a critical hit build. (Though less so if you set the difficulty where the player gets huge accuracy penalties.)
Misasa meanwhile can just get crazy gains out of dexterity. You'd need a Talented Dubious Upbringing Quick Mana Core adventurer or something to really outmatch her, and I've never encountered such a random character.
Best adventurer I found has with start traits +280% grow and +260% without END and WIS but that's unique and he has Scared of Fire trait.
I hired all those with Talented so 6 for now, and most have either END or WiS or both for one with high grow, and three have Scared of Fire trait, one has Frail.
The only Adventurer beating Alisa for INT grow and only for 10% isn't a character with Talented but it gave same INT that Alisa, and Alisa beat her for END, WiS and WIL plus can use an item for 1 AP cost. In exchange this adventurer has Magically talented so I suppose it's mostly on match with Elisa, even if the lower AP items use seems quite strong.
For Elan, I didn't knew about this amount of skill points cost.
For Selene she gives 10 extra death resist to each adventurer I thought it was rather good but I don't know, she has 25% increased power for Heal and lower SP costs for Divine, and she has a taunt weakening that looks rather good.
All of that looks rather good, at least for a Bishop she is quite excellent, perhaps not OP but quite unique and strong enough to not search more at least for Bishop.
That said, I created a VIP party and put all NPC in it, I'm not used to exploit OP holes so use them only occasionally, perhaps I'll have to change for Misasa to manage her relationship before do her quest.
At end it's quite similar Urtuk and a similar very bizarre design choice. For Urtuk one OP character and multiple very good but party size is probably smaller I forgot. And for OAG 2 OP potentially 3, one very strong and one very good perhaps I over evaluated Selene.
How many items do you use in a fight? I use very few, because they take up too much inventory space and for boss fights I can drink my potions BEFORE the fight, so I do not think that matters much.
If I do want items, like healing/mana potions in tough fights, then the general adventurer trait that lets you use 1 item per round for free is much better than Alissa's trait, since you're very unlikely to use multiple potions in 1 round and getting one for free is really helpful.
To get all his stat growth traits costs 5 skillpoints. (1 per stat.) 4 if you skip INT. And without those traits, all his base stats are very low (3 across the board I think) so he can't reach an advanced class anytime soon.
Since you need his stat boosting traits as early as possible, so you'll be level 6 or so without a single combat skill.... that hurts.
And to get all the skills you want in the late game you probably need to feed a half dozen skillpoint potions, since even normal characters have more good skills available than they have skillpoints.
Death resist only matters when you screw up and have a character with low bravery being hit. It could potentially save someone's life, but I prefer to plan for not needing it.
Taunt is pretty useless. The healing power boost is very nice, but compared to a cleric with 200+ INT growth it pales.
So perhaps I went too far in saying she sucks, but she's certainly mediocre.
Didn't play that game. Personally I found this game more fun when I just skipped all the story characters in my second playthrough. I just told them all to take a hike.
And even if it's just for 2 of the NPC which I still doubt, it's not proper to provide them sort of OP and breaking the rules.
Worth try Urtuk, it has better combats and procedure generation, interesting original character building but everything else is better in OAG. For the bizarre graphics of Urtuk, some can find ugly, you should get used to it fast.
