is there an end to the shady priest event line ?

There is. You can meet him a total of 5 times. 4 times he will ask something from you.

I've encountered the man 4 times in quick succession very early into the game. I also have the achievement for being fool. Now on day 300+ and I cannot seem to find him for completion of his event. Just bad luck?

I tried to focus my search in the forest as I recall meeting him there but to no avail.

Any tip could be helpful :-)

I think its just bad luck. I did manage to complete the shady priest achievement eventually but it seems chain events have a low chance of appearing as i still havent finished the hunting achievement and im on day 1500+.

The last time he will only have a chance to appear if you reached "Widely-Known" reputation.

I just saw today's patch note:

- Fixed an issue where the last event with the Priest could only happen on reputation rank widely-known instead of widely-known and higher

You can find him in any map at any difficulty level, its just pure RNG.
