But when actually playing it works a lot better than it seems. The poses are pretty expressive, the equipment shown on the characters looks nice, it's very clear and recognisable so you're never confused about which character you look at.

I still don't like the art but I like how it works? I have a hard time describing it. Kind of like a "greater than the sum of its parts thing? It's weird, but I'll take it.

I suspect that from a marketing perspective some more refined character art would help sell the game, but then again I know precisely zilch about marketing. Demo and good reviews may well make a bigger difference.

Problem is that people who would like this game would most likely also like anime and this just does not look good to people who watch modern anime. Its a bit of a demographics clash.

It's fine for the price one MUST remember and if this one sells well then he can upgrade the visuals with the extra $$ he made hopefully, and if not I'll still gladly pay and play his next upcoming game!!
