2°) Put this skillpoint in his STR growth personal skill. He'll only get a basic "hit" attack and no way to burn SP
3°) Send him on quests. Get him extra traits/stat growth whenever you can
4°) Put the following SKP in End then Dex then Wisdom stat growth
5°) Turn him asap into a knight then either Dragon knight or Paladin
6°) Give him some extra skillpoints when you can so that he can catchup on that aspect since he misses 4 on a standard build (that were allocated to his stats growth)
7°) Enjoy a 50-90 endgame stats teammate
Also, if you really want to max/min, just hold off leveling Elan early-on, because he can get 3 skill points easily right from level 1:
- The reset point as Pure_Poetry mentioned.
- The fountain of magic water that is a random event in 1* & 2* forest areas. In my experience, it seems to appear in those areas until you collect it once, then it is gone forever. So you should send him on a lot of easy quests.
- There's a story quest that gives a skill book as a reward at the Recognized Rank.
So at level 1, you can already have the STR/DEX/END buffs. Then you raise 1 level to get a 4th skill point to put into WIS before you start really leveling him up.
- If you really want to go wild, you can even feed him the Trainer Assignment Quest of Falken for extra STR and END (kinda overkill though. I prefer to give it to someone else for a 2nd solid frontline character).
- I don't recommend giving him the Rogue and Astrid ones, as they are better on Daryl to make him absolutely bonkers.
One other point:
- I don't know if it's just luck or scripted, but when I do a Forest quest right after getting Elan, I get the injured pup mission on the map, which gives Elan some more willpower growth.
- The 1st skill book is actually a potion, given post-necromancer kill (paladin story quest). Elan NEEDS those to compensate the lack of others skills
- In addition to Falken, you can also very quickly get Bai training (+0.25 STR/DEX/END) although I'd now prefer to give 1 of these to Elan and the other to my 2nd A-Team melee. Indeed I give Rogue/Astrid to some other guy (an archer, but not Daryl who is subpar imho).
BTW, you can see Elan's Ironman build (and my archer) in my guide here :

But what really makes him shine is the lv12 unique skill "Accurate and Deadly" for 100% hit chance and further increased crit chance.
I suppose the big drawback is making sure he is 3 tiles away from allies, but that's a strategic element that makes the game fun!
I like Elan, but I think the true MCs are double stats specialists with three good traits
You realize Elan's literally a 6 stat specialist, right?
Talented +20 all stats
STR +30 (Star), WILL +30 (Star), WIS +20 (Kind)
Then the 5 skills to give +30 to STR/DEX/END/WIS & INT.
So you're looking at
+80 STR
+50 DEX
+50 END
+70 WIS
+50 INT (or you can save the skill point if you don't plan go hybrid class like Paladin, but I'd suggest you take it!).
+80 WILL
Is a star 30 growth?
There's no tooltip in-game, and none of the tutorials ever mention what it does, but the developer said it was 50% growth here:

That was a year ago and it may have changed since? But I didn't see any notifications about that either.

Yes, but doesn't have the juiiciest traits
I was looking in the tavern screen, where the tooltip does not appear. But on the main character screen it does, although it's still a bit fiddly.
Thanks, this was bugging me.
I fully agree. My main concern actually is his lack of STR. If you don't quickly get some individual training or Arm Wrestling event, he is B+ Tier IMHO, vs any archer with decent stats + god-like STR, or with mana core.
My latest playthrough I got the legendary gauntlet that can set an adv STR to 40, instantly making Dayl double his STR, and so his dmg output... that changed my playthrough entirely :-D !
Ahh nitro glad you decided to finally try the game out I was the one that suggested it to you on your you tube channel from back when we played langrisser together I knew these types of games you liked from your channel and was hoping you would try it out and like it good to see you here supporting GG as he is one of the best devs I have seen on a game especially when it's just one person doing all the work!!
Personally Daryl fits the swordmaster class perfectly he can literally go off by himself and you don't have to worry about him at all his super dodge makes him a super dodge tank mine only has a 5% chance to get hit he can heal himself with monk stances increase dmg with them as well has AOE while he always hits with his 100% acc and if his lone wolf is being active as well it increases all his stats like dmg dodge and everything you never have to worry about sp either if you kill with his skills as well as they will regen!
How can you send him out "on a lot of easy quests" to get SKP and still stay level one?
