I'm a bit torn about this quest. I wanted to have several outcomes Misasa but it seems like that players do not care about any but the best. I'll probably make it repeatable by leaving the quest. This way people can choose whether they want to take the outcome or reload and just quit for a better outcome.
I think that's pretty common gamer-psychology, at least those with a completionist mindset.
The result of having multiple ranked outcomes is not giving players a choice: It is making the best outcome feel more rewarding, and all lesser outcomes feel like failure.
Super cool of you. Sent. Take your time, I'm happy to resume once I get the modified save file back.
What if the 2nd best outcome has more battle related bonus like either + 5 Phys Atk or +10 Bravery under the theme of embracing adversity in life; and then to even it out, give a mood bonus for the best outcome? And then have corresponding narrative changes. Maybe that way players would more satisfied with the 2nd best outcome?
Right now, even if she has friends in the party, but not best friend or lover, the story makes player feel like they made a big blunder -- which is good -- and the trait accentuates that for players who min-max and are relatively far into the game. So the natural gameplay response is to reload.
The next update will take a while so the quest will stay like that for a while, but if you want you can send me the save and I'll re-add the quest, so you can try again.
I am a completionist and want the best outcomes... *BUT* I like that there are chances to fail. The more outcomes and story paths possible, the better the replay factor. I already love your game, and am very impressed. Follow your instincts. (Though it is always wise to listen to player base.)
For example, when I played demo, I recruited and saved the son. When I replayed after buying the game, I fully explored the map and found a corpse... I kept it, I know I messed up, but that was the consequence of my actions.
